  • Moyes Plug To Be Pulled, Eventually!

    Denial is a part of our make up as human beings, without it we would never 'soldier on' regardless on many occasions, recognising denial is in itself an achievement as many people muddle on oblivious to the obvious and seem quite content with their lot in life. The sports wash that is about to begin in Qatar might move the emphasis of what is going on domestically for a little while, but sooner or later certain home truths WILL come home to roost it is a question of when not if.

    The Irons board are currently stuck between a rock and a hard place but must know that ultimately they HAVE to step out from the back ground and put a new manager at the helm of the club in situ, their loyalty to current manage David Moyes is to be applauded especially in today's cut throat Premier League, but football IS a different beast now than what it was and is constantly evolving.

    David Moyes has worked wonders at West Ham during BOTH of his spells in charge, but the 'brownie points' that he has earned are being eroded by an appalling run of results domestically that has only yielded 14 wins out of 42 games! a one in three win ration is NOT what the club needs. Many are saying the club's relative success in Europe has actually masked the club's slip into Domestic relegation candidates, something has to change, but what?

    If one accepts that David Moyes will still be in charge after the World Cup farce ends, how long will he be given before he gets the tin tack? Brendan Rogers was in a similar predicament only a few weeks ago and now it is all smiles at Leicester, the issue is that David Moyes seems far better suited to working with 'seasoned' players who have trodden a full and varied path to the Premier League as opposed to ready made super stars.

    Moyes currently has at his disposal a squad of superb players and yet he doesn't seem able or willing to utilise their undoubted talents, is it because he simply can't or is he just so stubborn that it is his way or the highway? At the Org we are of the opinion that Moyes HAS run his course as manager and IF the club can find a suitable replacement then it should hasten his departure rather than wait until the inevitable.

    Moyes might indeed turn things round after the Qatar wash cup, but it is highly unlikely that he will be willing to change a style of play that he has utilised virtually ALL of his managerial career, safe and sound but not enough to keep fans happy, the natives are getting restless, but who would they like as Moyes's replacement and more importantly who would want to come? - Ed

    13 wins from 41 prem matches That was the stat being talked about around me at the match yesterday and it is a very concerning one.When you consider how Moyes held back in January when we all new the squad needed help and the reason being he only wanted Lingard well the season just collapsed and then Moyes made the bold statement that what he saw from the team after the Brighton match at end of the season was unacceptable and things will change.

    So forward to the summer transfer market he chased and chased and chased and chased Lingard which he failed in getting so then as it was getting late for me a scattergun approach to signings.Reportedly he was not sure and did not want Scamacca but as time rolled on he got him:-) Aguerd who he had wanted he got Downes came out of the blue Cornet an afterthought Emerson as well then Onana a beast in midfield but the deal could not happen so Everton stole in and got him so all of a sudden Paquetta was the word and so here we are with a record of P 15 W 4 D 2 L 9 F 12 A 17.

    What has changed? the same brand of football being played the players look depressed and fed up with negative tactics the manager who said things will change well the evidence we are presented with proves to him nothing has changed and in all honesty if the board decide to stick with him do we really expect to see anything other than what is being served up?

    Say the board stick he has 6 weeks to work with the players not going to the world cup but he states he is having a break all well and good but when the ship is sinking you do not take a break you stay and fix it but i think it is beyond his abilities to do so.

    If he stays i see it going like this.David you just lost to Arsenal and Brentford what is your view?Wellllll you have to understand a lot of my players were at the world cup and with all the travel they need a rest and so we could not put out the teams we wanted to for those matches.The fans have voiced there concerns that nothings changed and your tactics clearly do not seem to be working how do you answer them? The EXPERTS in the stand need to keep faith we will turn this round but it takes time to bed in all the new players.And so my fellow orgers this circus we are watching will carry on and supporters will get more and more peed off the ground will start to empty earlier and earlier and a lot may just choose not to turn up what then?

    Sack Moyes now and a new man and his backroom staff need employing quicksmart so they can start working with the players not at the world cup OR stick and hope we do not get relegated and that Moyes will change things for the better those are the only options my friends.

    Alright Nev? Hope you're all good? I just wanted to check on the criteria for joining this site. I've been coming on here I reckon for at least 15 years and it seems that there is an age restriction on posters joining the Org. I have a 17 year old son, born unfortunately for him into West Ham like myself, but I'm not sure he'd be allowed to join? Your Moderators on here seem to be belittling younger people as if their opinions don't matter, and I've lost count of the times I've seen this is an 'adult site'. Is it 18 or 21 and over? Also is it just age restrictive, or are one's political stances moderated too? If a woman joins does she automatically qualify for flirting with or is there a settling in process? What about religious or ethnicity backgrounds? How does one become a moderator? Is it just a case of follow the leader playground style or is there a process?

    Just seen the England squad for the upcoming World Cup & to me it's a shambles. On form Bowen does not deserve to be in there & probably played himself out of a place. But when you look in full. Wow! The defence us awful. Trent, Maguire, Dier, Coady, White & Shaw. Walker is injured. Then in midfield. Kalvin Phillips (has he played this season) and Gallagher who does not even start for his club. Then up front. Rashford, Sterling and Grealish. All back out of form. Absolute joke. Shambles of a squad. Shambles of a manager. Sneak through the group and sent packing in first knockout game.

    When Armando Broja turned down a permanent move to West Ham United in the summer, his intentions were clear. After loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem and Southampton, the Albanian international saw a chance to establish himself at parent club Chelsea.

    The results of that decision have been mixed. Broja has been a regular part of the Chelsea squad at the beginning of the season, but he’s largely started from the bench. With the domestic campaign about to break for the World Cup, it’s a good time to assess the striker’s progress and to ask whether the Hammers should go back in.

    Path Blocked

    The signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would have blocked one route into the Chelsea starting lineup. As a proven striker in the English Premier League, current Blues manager Graham Potter is more likely to favour the former Arsenal player.

    Chelsea had their issues in front of goal last season and the majority of strikes came from midfield. Raheem Sterling arrived from Manchester City to help address the concerns while Aubameyang completed the picture.

    So where does that leave Armando Broja? At the start of November, the Albanian striker had featured in 15 games for Chelsea, scoring just once. As a regular fixture on the Blues bench, he may be starting to regret the decision not to move on.

    West Ham’s Aims

    For now, West Ham will be focusing on their own results and the target is to climb up the table following a slow start. A place in the top seven and European football for next season is still within the Hammers’ sights after the team pulled themselves away from the drop zone.

    David Moyes’ men need to close a gap between themselves and the top seven and there isn’t much support among the neutrals. Current betting markets for a Top Six finish put the Hammers down among the outside bets and that’s a measure of the task ahead of them.

Ultimately, West Ham United fans may be thankful that this particular transfer failed to materialise in the summer.

  • Skin Of Teeth Or Thin Ice?-Moyes Threshold!

    The old adages and oxymoron phrases will keep on coming thick and fast IF Hammers persist in their David Moyes 'blind faith' journey, there is simply no visible light at the end of a very long tunnel and action needs to be taken now! This is NOT a knee jerk reaction to the club's exit from the 'useless' cup as t is known in 'soccer's' inner circle, well most of the new breed of owners call it soccer now don't they?

    No this lies far deeper than being beaten on penalties by a lower league side, albeit one that has actually WON the PREMIER LEAGUE, no this article relates to a mindset that once served the club and the team so well, so well that teams now know exactly just how to set up against a David Moyes team that all the previous success over the last couple of years is slowly unravelling, due mainly to the fact that Hammers are currently a 'one trick' managerial pony!

    David Moyes's reluctance to change his tactics is really hurting the club on so many levels, again we refer to the departures of Alan Irvine and Stuart Pearce as 'watershed' departures, their true importance, including Psycho's unique 'eye in the sky' perspective are sorely missing. Perhaps the club might have done more to facilitate their staying, in a similar way as they could have handled the want away Craig Dawson situation?

    Viewers will note a distinct absence of a board supports the manager in today's press round ups, because there IS a distinct possibility while David Moyes is arranging World Cup friendlies for the players not off to the 'gay hunters footy wash' the club are preparing their own trial without jury for a certain Scotsman. Moyes' pay off costs are not great, especially as he only has a couple of his 'own staff' with him now.

    There has been a lot of 'in the background ' movement surrounding the club recently right through it's infrastructure, it is as if there are plans for a relatively clean sweep, so don't be surprised if Saturday's game against Leicester is Moyes' last in full charge! - Ed

  • He Wouldn't Would He? Moyes & Lingard

    News that struggling Premier League newcomers Nottingham Forest are keen to offload Jesse Lingard and cancel his contract in January has been greeted with joy and FEAR by the Hammers faithful, joy that his time at the City ground has been such a disaster as it was rightly or wrongly viewed that he only went there for the money and absolute FEAR or terror that Moyes might finally get his man in what might be one of his final acts as a manager of WesT Ham United!

    Moyes' affection for Lingard is well documented so he was gutted when Lingard chased the filthy lucre instead of rejoining West Ham which should have been a 'shoe in' situation following his incredibly successful spell at the club while on loan from Manchester's 2nd club. Obviously things didn't work out how Moyes and many fans had hoped for, however the silver lining was that the board pushed the boat out to get Pacman instead!

    Lucas Pacqueta operates on a different footballing planet to Lingard and should Moyes and the club part company The Pacman will feel entirely confident with whichever manager is chosen to take the club forward because there is a general feeling that while David Sullivan is all for backing his manager that the next majority shareholder Daniel Kretinsky while 'liking' Moyes is not adverse to a managerial change with ex-Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel his preferred choice as well as Brentford's Thomas Frank.

    Sullivan's endorsement did have smackings of the old "The board are right behind the manager" statements usually released just ahead of their sacking! Perhaps the World Cup break will see exactly that happen, maybe David Moyes is best suited to rescuing a club in crisis and operating on a miniscule transfer budget?

    What is obvious is that with the players he now has at his disposal, even Moyes will know that the team's league form has dropped off the cliff over the last twelve months and as such he really can't expect to be given too much time, even the Moysiah 'Moysie'! Not known for pulling the trigger too fast, David Sullivan might just to be experiencing what it is like to operate a fellow investor who has nous and clout in equal order.

    Moyes has done brilliantly well for the club ad if the footballing gods had smiled on a few more occasions this season perhaps this discussion would be academic, but as things stand Moyes is skating on the thinnest of ice and since Ralph Hassenthull's sacking by Southampto finds himself at the top of the list no Premier League manager wants to be, the 'Sack Race'! - Ed
