March in march

Submitted by Red Neck Iron on Fri, 02/02/2018 - 15:08

Just thought I'd post on here that there is a March against the owners coming up on 10th March. Before the Burnley game apparently. I've heard it's a serious one with decent numbers. I don't know much more than that. I don't normally do this kinda thing but if I can find out more, I think I might go. I don't do fb or twatter, but I need to know details if I'm coming in from Suffolk. Just to let everyone know if they are interested.

Brady's big mouth cost us

'Leicester refused to loan Islam Slimani to West Ham after comments made by Karren Brady over the dismissal of Claudio Ranieri last season'. so it appears that any transfer dealings we may wish to conduct with Leicester are done for thanks to Brady. we will see, if Slimani starts scoring its going to look embarrassing for the board yet again. its a crying shame that we have owners like this, 'saved the club', 'fans', 'best interests at heart'…I've heard it all and people still defend them but come on, the facts speak for themselves. They got very lucky with Moyes, if he keeps us up, he's managed a small miracle, but they appointed him because he was cheap and now they've failed to back him in the transfer market too. you have to feel a bit sorry for the man, him and pearce are working away for the club, clearing out the mess left behind by lazy Bilic, but getting no help from above. Our stadium is gone, soon we'll probably be ground sharing with someone like Palace or charlton when the L.S deal gets unraveled and the facts come out that the board swindled it. its time for them all to go imo. they are the most unprofessional owners in the league by a country mile and thats saying something. their kids are allowed to pass judgement on club matters and players…the whole thing is some sort of joke, some 'play thing' for two old rich guys and their lady muck mistress.

Henry The Oath And His Sick Vibes Oh Dear!

No one can accuse West Ham United of doing things by half when it comes to shooting themselves in the foot, and continuing along with this ethos the club has really managed to surpass itself in the last couple of days. Even the most skeptical of fans cannot believe it was a deliberate act in order to divert attention from what was a truly awful January transfer window, but never the less Hammers' Director of Player Recruitment Tony Henry has managed to go where few others have been by managing to not only alienate a fine group of players that are at the club but also ensured that anyone of African descent will think twice about joining 'racist' West Ham!

Judge for yourself whether Henry just chose the wrong words to express his feelings, or if his comments were misconstrued or if he is totally racist without realising it! below is a full transcript of his words, followed by the club's offcial response to Henry's comments.
FULL TONY HENRY TRANSCRIPT

“Because we had three and we felt we didn’t particularly want any more African players.”
When questioned why, Henry said: “Erm, no reason. It’s nothing racist at all. It’s just sometimes they can have a bad attitude.
“We had problems with Sakho, with Diafra Sakho. We find that when they are not in the team they cause mayhem. It’s nothing against the African race at all.
“I mean, look, there are top African players. There’s not a problem with them. It’s just sometimes they cause a lot of problems when they are not playing, as we had with Diafra. He’s left, so great. It’s nothing personal at all.”
When pressed as to whether he thought his comments were discriminatory, Henry replied: “In what way?”
Asked if he thought he comments were derogatory towards African players, Henry added: “No. I don’t know what you are trying to get at here. All I said was, look, we have a great lad in (Cheikhou) Kouyate, he’s brilliant, a great player for us, he’s a good lad.
“But the likes of Sakho have caused mayhem. When he’s not playing … he always wants a new deal. That’s all it was. It was nothing discriminatory at all.
“I could say we get offered Russian players. I just find with Russian players that they don’t settle in England.
“It’s like Italians. How many Italians come and settle in England? As a club we are not discriminatory at all.
“If you’ve got too many, they all sit together and it becomes a situation where you can have problems. But then you can have problems with English players. I don’t know what you are driving at.”

West Ham United Official Statement:

The Club can confirm that Director of Player Recruitment Tony Henry has been suspended pending a full and thorough investigation. West Ham United will not tolerate any type of discrimination and has, therefore, acted swiftly due to the serious nature of these claims.
The West Ham United family is an inclusive one where, regardless of gender, age, ability, race, religion or sexual orientation, everybody feels welcome and included.
The Club will make no further comment until the investigation has been concluded.

Well there we have it, at best Hammers come across as dated and racist, at worst damage has been caused that will not go away, eventually it will be a case of 'Taxi for Henry' because there is no amount of spin, particularly from a hierarchy that is already despised by most fans, that can gloss over what are racist comments. Tony Henry will argue that his comments have been taken out of context, he will furhter argue that the reporter who was questioning him had a pre-set agenda that was deigned to 'ensnare' him while he was off guard. Two things (a) Henry should have chosen his words more carefully, after all he has been in the business for a long time, and (b) What on earth was Tony Henry doing talking to the press in the first place? There are Press and PR people at the club who are paid good money exactly in order to avoid such embarrassments, so maybe they should 'fall on the sword' along with Henry, because until he has gone there will be a nasty stigma hanging over the club. - Ed

West Ham United have left themselves open to accusations of racism and potentially unlawful discrimination after telling agents in the transfer window that they don’t want to sign any more African players.

In an email printed by the Daily Mail, recruitment director to the board, Tony Henry Henry wrote of an unnamed player: ‘We don’t want any more Africans and he’s not good enough. I sent Thomas to watch him and the other lad last week and he said no. If Palace take them good luck.’

Henry then confirmed it was true and suggested it was a policy supported by club management. ‘Yeah,’ Henry replied. ‘Because we had three and we felt we didn’t particularly want any more African players.’

Asked why, Henry replied: ‘Erm, no reason. It’s nothing racist at all. It’s just sometimes they can have a bad attitude.

‘We had problems with Sakho, with Diafra Sakho. We find that when they are not in the team they cause mayhem. It’s nothing against the African race at all. I mean, look, there are top African players. There’s not a problem with them. It’s just sometimes they cause a lot of problems when they are not playing, as we had with Diafra. He’s left, so great. It’s nothing personal at all.’

Asked if he thought his view was discriminatory towards African players, Henry asked: ‘In what way?’

Asked then if he thought his comments amounted to a slight on African players, he replied: ‘No. I don’t know what you are trying to get at here. All I said was, look, we have a great lad in (Cheikhou) Kouyate, he’s brilliant, a great player for us, he’s a good lad.But the likes of Sakho have caused mayhem. When he’s not playing … he always wants a new deal. That’s all it was. It was nothing discriminatory at all.

‘I could say we get offered Russian players. I just find with Russian players that they don’t settle in England. It’s like Italians. How many Italians come and settle in England? As a club we are not discriminatory at all.If you’ve got too many, they all sit together and it becomes a situation where you can have problems. But then you can have problems with English players. I don’t know what you are driving at.’

West Ham has responded to say “We take any allegations of discrimination extremely seriously and are now in the process of ascertaining the full facts behind this accusation.”

Ego

Seems Conte is doing everything possible to join the mega ego's of Mourinho and Pep. His comment after the 3-0 thrashing to bournemouth was 'I'm doing a great job'. he then goes on to mention they may miss out on the top 4 this year. er, hello antonio - anyone home? add to this the fact he keeps harping on about how great an achievement it was to win the prem last season (he's expected to with that squad ffs) i think it may come as a shock when he gets the boot.

Fans Up In Arms At Pathetic West Ham Transfer Activity But Why Was It So?

Even before the January transfer window closed West Ham United have confirmed that there will be no new additions to an already threadbare squad with the exception of the North East's 'Messi' Preston North End striker Jordan Hugill , who was an ideal West Ham signing because he was cheap and Hammers manager David Moyes stlll had a lot of sway at the club where he began his managerial career and was able to dig up enough dirt in order to get the 'deal' over the line.

Essentially Hugill is an Andy Carroll clone who is not as talented but is much much fitter, he will offer the plan B option that Moyes has been lusting after and may well prove to be a solid signing, but West Ham fans will have been quick to do the maths and have seen that Ayew and Sakho have yielded around £22 - 28 Million in revenue as opposed to the £9 Million in expenditure for Hugill and possibly £2 Million in agents fees and add ons for the Jaoa Mario transfer on loan from Inter.

There seems that there should have been at least an £11 Million war chest available for some late transfer activity given the recent out goings from the club however the closed sign has been put up at the London Stadium already meaning the publicly declared 'funds available' to David Moyes will not be utilised.

Since this year's ruling that clubs are no longer allowed to borrow money from off shore 'loan facilitators' against their prospective commercial activities West Ham United have been on the back foot financially, the same thing happened to Everton who were forced in to taking over seas owners in all but name because they were no longer able to 'rob peter to pay paul'. The venerable Bill Kenwright used the Bahama gate funding facility for years in order to keep his beloved club afloat but eventually was unable to continue the facade.

Maybe now is the time for West Ham United's owners to break the cast and say it how it really is to the legion of fans who will always support West Ham United come hell or high water, why not say "actually we are broke, we cannot borrow money as easily as we used to in the past and due to the high wages we have paid in order to try to compete with the other teams scrapping to stay in the Premier League we don't have a pot to piss in!

We at the Org think fans would be far more forgiving if they felt they were being fed the truth instead of a whole load of smoke and mirrors. - Ed
