Balotelli Rumours

Well, it is the transfer window and this rumour had to raise itself. Balotelli linked to West Ham. He's obviously having a poor time back in Italy, his agent thinks he can get him some quick extortionate cash in England on a 6 month loan, with the view to a permanent deal. £10 milliion. This has to be total and complete utter madness, written to sell a few papers and I hope our Slav and the board kick it out the Park. If we had that sort of money available, then we should go and sign Rhodes and Byram now. Don't wait for the final days of the window, get them in now.

why so surprised?

So we lost after 8 unbeaten but I have to admit the people who did not see this coming surprized me.....Bilic said he thought it strange that Newcastle were more up for it and going for the win more than us...but on a number of occasions this season we have started slow and need a kick up the bum at half time to get us going.. yesterday we could of easily gone in 4-0 down and were lucky to keep them to only 2 goals the whole match.....every player was very poor yesterday..... its not a told you so moment but I mentioned this in a thread earlier in the week and take no credit for getting it right I wished I was wrong but for some reason we just don't seem to get going early on.
now for something else it is clear Valencia cannot lead the line its not him it is not his kind of role and yes I am going to mention it but noble could of easily been subbed as yet another performance whilst not the worse we have seen many of this term.....I do not dislike him and I think he is a good prem player but no more than that...I understand this will upset some but I am not slagging him off I just see how ltd he is and again blowing my own trumpet I had mentioned being happy if we had got shelvey in to replace mark..... only one game but already the drive the passing ability and the shooting ability(although many way off yesterday)head and shoulders above noble....still we move on from this defeat and we have citeh and maybe the scousers in the cup(come on the grecians!)to come...we need to start faster in these matches or we could be in for more of what we saw yesterday.

Last season at the Boleyn quiz

Submitted by Red Neck Iron on Fri, 15/01/2016 - 16:38

Q 1 what is the lowest official attendance within 500 at the Boleyn ground since 1970?

Q2 which Newcastle player did Alvin Martin score against at the Boleyn that went on to gain 59 international caps.

Q3. Mark lawrenceson is struggling with his maths exam can you help? It's a sum that only counts for players that have appeared for West Ham with the same surnames. Nobles x allens + ferdinands - robsons = ????

Q4. who scored the winning goal between Newcastle and West Ham 1982 at the Boleyn ground

Q5. Apart from the obvious, Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan, name 3 players since 1970 who have played for both West Ham and Newcastle?.

Champions League Anyone?

Submitted by Zummerzet on Fri, 15/01/2016 - 10:51

Well 21 games in, fifth in the league, best current form, and unbeaten in eight games. Dare we mention the possibility of a Champions League place?
Let's look at the contenders. Arsenal to my mind seem to be best placed, with their injury list improving they look odds on to qualify and possibly win he Premiership. Man City, always look good on paper but have that element of self-destruction but a top four place is again odds on. Leicester, well what a turn up! They are playing like demented demons and just when you think they are shot they turn up with a win at Spuds! If their luck holds and they avoid injuries they are with us a possibility. Spuds, sorry dislike them intensely, know it's childish, so sod them. Man U and Pool, good squads but cannot gel. With new to the Prem players they can produce the goods but I think not.
It look's as if the last position is up for grabs, we have 17 games to go, the lack of strikers and the injury situation is concerning so we should be looking at the next stage. The fact that we are in the new stadium next season and the possibility of Champions League football would look enticing to new signings from any league in the world.

This is a great chance for us, other teams are sporadic in their performances, so this opportunity may not present itself again. The rich clubs will improve their squad, that's a definite, Chelsea will be back next year so the big four will all be there. Added to that will the Prem still get four places in the Cham League after piss poor performance of our top teams?

Please SuGo grab this chance, it will not appear again.

Bournemouth Misc.

Ive watched the game twice and can't seem to move on …. A great week. But there were a few things about the Bournemouth game that I am surprised have not been mentioned. Firstly I like to read the opposition view on KNUM. Always get a kick out of opposing team supporters.. Normally its the usual 'how did we lose against a shitty WH.. But the Bournemouth supports were full of respect and realism that is usually missing, so hats off to them and good luck in the Prem. …. No mentions on this site or in their comments about what a good player one of our own Stanislas has become. Glad to see him in a Prem team and doing well. His form now would have made it in our team a year ago but not after our summer signings, but hope he keeps on improving and playing well…. Interesting fact by the commentator during the game, that we have not lost to a team outside of the M25 this season….. Valencia scores the second and all I can hear is "We've got Payet……." felt a bit sorry for him,… It was a well taken volley coming to his foot at great speed, could have very easily gone over if not executed right. Its not often the assist gets more credit than the scorer!.
Payet is fantastic but if we can all put our proverbial 'hard ons' back in our pants and see it was a great team effort. I am in awe as mush as the next supporter and his performance puts other individual performances in the shade. Valencia's free kick was spectacular and every bit as good as Payets. Ogbona, Collins, Noble, Antonio all had a great game… Anyway glad to get these off my chest, working late and been thinking about this post all day!! COYI… Cant wait till Saturday… Thoughts !!!

Sam Byram

Submitted by stuartb on Thu, 14/01/2016 - 21:10

Just heard Leeds have accepted a £3 million bid from Everton, with possible £1 million in add-ons, and £12K a week wages! Come on chairmen, don't miss out on this boy please!! If Everton think Byram is better than Seamus Coleman you can see what a player this boy is. We've tracked him for so long we've probably alerted everyone else to him and now we let someone else gazump us.
He's the Championship player of the month for December, 21, born in Thurrock in Essex, and (rumour has it) a West Ham fan.
We know already with Cresswell and Antonio that these boys can make the jump.
Come on West Ham, get rid of Zarate, Lee, O'Brien if you have to. Only 12K a week. Surely that's possible. Make it happen!!!

Things You Never Hear in The Media

Submitted by Red Neck Iron on Thu, 14/01/2016 - 13:32

Things you will never hear in the media or motd.

Liverpool really are just an average team currently on the slide.

Rooney has been struggling for months

England don't have any decent players ATM.

The best and most exciting game on match of the day is first and it doesn't involve any of our favourite teams.

The aurora around sam allardyce really is nothing more than a myth

And

This is the second time West Ham have been first on match of the day this season

Anyone got any others?
