It is not just the Brentwood Gazette that seems to have had their water supply 'infected' with powerful hallucinogens, The Independent and of course those bastions of truth the Daily Mail have also got in on the act! First there was the insane Balotelli to the Boleyn rumour, there are probably very few players on the planet who are so not suited to Slaven Billic's West Ham United side, Balotelli is the epitome of everything that is wrong with the modern day footballer and his presence in the dressing room would be extremely counter productive to team spirit, not to mention that The Road Runner, Chek Kayoute, is hanging out with Balotelli's ex-girl friend! (memories of Bish!)
Next to the equally ludicrous but even more preposterous Daniel Sturridge Liverpool to West Ham move, why on earth would the two David's sanction the purchase of a player from Liverpool with a terrible injury record when they have already had their fingers well and truly burnt by the Andy Carroll transfer? The answer is quite simply they would not sanction such a move through hell or high water, once is enough!
There will be all sorts of ludicrous rumours floating around during the next ten days, and we trust that the BG and others will keep everyone amused. - Ed
So according to his Sky interview Diddy David Sullivan says we are looking to bring in a top class 20 goal a season striker on loan, he's played in the top league but is now playing in an unusual league. What's an unusual league, is it a league of Tom Jones tribute acts. Anyway he says he cant tell us as everyone will get it straight away. I'm just getting worried as I don't know where Samuel Eto'o is playing right now. Thoughts anyone who is that masked man??
Sullivan has gone on record as saying we are after a striker on loan from abroad with a view to buy in summer. He plays in a unrecognised league like Lanzini but has played at a lot higher level. It will be in the next 7 days if it comes off. So who do we think it is? For me logic suggests someone who hasn't played in that league long 6-12 months? So I'm thinking gignac. Rumours on twatter are saying its ba.
Diafra Sakho, known as Daffy to his West Ham team mates, is not one to avoid the head lines is he? Having had various unpleasant charges dropped against him last year by the police, one would have thought that he would try to keep a low profile. Crashing his £200,000 Lamborghini in to a wall after having collided with another vehicle wasn't exactly what was required! Daffy is still recovering from the surgery that has kept him out of the West Ham starting line up for two months, perhaps he was trying to 'ease' himself back in to a modern day footballer's life style and thought he would take his motor for a 'spin. Well, he did just that, but perhaps a certain Mr Billic (well known softy!) might have a word in the striker's 'shell like' and give him a little bit of guidance in how to conduct himself when he is in the public eye, because nowadays being in the public eye relates to being any where outside of the player's actual home. - Ed
As the news broke of West Ham United's potential signing of the Thurrock born 22 year old right back Sam Byram from Leeds United, senior members of the Everton hierarchy will have been reaching for their hip flasks in order to numb the reality that they are facing since the departure of main scout Tony Henry to West Ham United. The Byram Leeds to Everton deal was all done and dusted, but local influence AND Tony Henry put an end to all that! Since Henry's arrival at the Boleyn, the club's recruitment policy can only be described as stratospheric compared with the previous Allardyce ,and his scout Martin Glover, ruled policy. Players like Dimitri Payet would definitely have been on Everton's shopping list, as was Byram, but Tony Henry has gravitas when it comes to player recruitment, he is a friend and associate of super agent Jorge Mendes, who among others represents Ronaldo, Falcao and Di Maria. We are not suggesting that players of that calibre will be rocking up at the Olympic stadium, but Mendes' closeness with all the top teams in Europe means that Hammers have access, and will gain even more access, to a stream of young players on the books of the larger clubs. One of the reasons Everton did so well last season, and why they are doing quite well this season is as a result of the players that Henry helped bring to the club.
Byram has cost West Ham United a paltry (at least in this day and age) £3.75 Million, and will be loaned back to Leeds United for the rest of the season, his signing virtually confirms the departure, back to his Parent club Arsenal ,of Carl Jenkinson at the end of the season. - Ed
with sakho the latest footballer to crash his high powered motor should footballers be allowed to drive themselves anywhere during the season lol maybe a fleet of chauffeurs should be employed by clubs to safeguard there multimillion pound stars
Well, we've heard often enough in this window, from the Davids and now from Slaven that there is no room to add to the squad. Apparently it's the wages issue and FFP. Now in one way, I'm happy with that. The board have been honest with us, the team is in relatively good shape and is competitive in the league. But with both Lanzini and Carroll re-injured and Sakho still out, I wonder if, despite the recent return of Payet, Valencia and Moses, we lack a certain punch up front. And I also wonder about the psychological effect of NOT strengthening in this window, while other teams around us are. A few bargains have passed us by. So what do you think? Will the lack of activity in this window come back to bite us? Should we be thinking about next season already and accept a slide down the table, just like last season? Or do you think we will pull it together and finish strong.
Well, it is the transfer window and this rumour had to raise itself. Balotelli linked to West Ham. He's obviously having a poor time back in Italy, his agent thinks he can get him some quick extortionate cash in England on a 6 month loan, with the view to a permanent deal. £10 milliion. This has to be total and complete utter madness, written to sell a few papers and I hope our Slav and the board kick it out the Park. If we had that sort of money available, then we should go and sign Rhodes and Byram now. Don't wait for the final days of the window, get them in now.
So we lost after 8 unbeaten but I have to admit the people who did not see this coming surprized me.....Bilic said he thought it strange that Newcastle were more up for it and going for the win more than us...but on a number of occasions this season we have started slow and need a kick up the bum at half time to get us going.. yesterday we could of easily gone in 4-0 down and were lucky to keep them to only 2 goals the whole match.....every player was very poor yesterday..... its not a told you so moment but I mentioned this in a thread earlier in the week and take no credit for getting it right I wished I was wrong but for some reason we just don't seem to get going early on.
now for something else it is clear Valencia cannot lead the line its not him it is not his kind of role and yes I am going to mention it but noble could of easily been subbed as yet another performance whilst not the worse we have seen many of this term.....I do not dislike him and I think he is a good prem player but no more than that...I understand this will upset some but I am not slagging him off I just see how ltd he is and again blowing my own trumpet I had mentioned being happy if we had got shelvey in to replace mark..... only one game but already the drive the passing ability and the shooting ability(although many way off yesterday)head and shoulders above noble....still we move on from this defeat and we have citeh and maybe the scousers in the cup(come on the grecians!)to come...we need to start faster in these matches or we could be in for more of what we saw yesterday.
