Top of the alternative league
Forums:
I've just seen an alternative league table with us at the top, only problem is it's for the amount of long balls played, we lead with 174 followed by Watford on 171 and Sunderland on 149, our opponents at the weekend Man City have played 75, bottom of the league, no great surprise, is Arsenal at 65, strange how I don't get that feeling that we're lumping it long all the time as I did under Sam Allardyce

Pundits are all backing us to do well on the weekend and rightly so considering our last two away performances.
But has me worried generally when we are talked about positively which is rare, or our tails are somewhat up we get rolled over.
That in turn is the west ham way... Build us up and then let us down. (Not that I'm expecting us to maul city)
Hopefully bilic makes some more history this weekend.
I know it's too early to say but

I know it's too soon to say but I have my doubts whether Andy Carroll can really fit into the way the team currently want to play. He did look a fish outa water on Monday which made me wonder. It's completely unfair to judge him on that as he isn't match fit and has had a long lay off, but casting my mind back to how he played under big Sam there has to be question marks. I believe he will have to evolve and adjust. So my question is can anyone see Andy fitting in as he is if so maybe you can convince me how without changing our style for him!

Sullivan And Billic Decided Moses Was A Better Option Than Adebayour
There was much media coverage as to whether Emmanuel Adebayour would join West Ham United from Tottenham Hotspur on transfer deadline day, but now it transpires that Slaven Billic elected to splash the cash on Victor Moses on loan from Chelsea FC instead. Billic had an hour long meeting with Adebayour, but was unimpressed with the amount of desire shown by the much travelled striker, consequently he phoned Hammers co-owner David Sullivan and confirmed that he believed in the recovery program set in place for Carroll, Zarate and Valencia and that there was no need to panic given the propensity of power and pace he had available on the counter attack from the rest of the team. It is believed that Billic was so encouraged by Andy Carroll's rehabilitation that he sanctioned a move for a wide player instead of a striker, so confident he was about 'big Andy's' ability to finally show why the club paid a record £15 Million for the mercurial striker, and it also showed how confident he was in the amount of time and effort spent bringing the geordie boy back on to the field had been worthwhile. - Ed

Im beginning to think it might have been a mistake making noble captain , dont get me wrong ido rate him but in the order of things considering .. the strength of our current squad i just think he might be a little bit to far doown the pecking order and the problem comes when he's not performing as he should ,it doesn't look good to have to drop your captain especially on a regular basis ,i know it happend a lot last year but the big Sam part of our past is a time i would rather foget , i think Reid lwould have been a better choice .
On the city game.im going for a well earned point , just tighten up a small bit at the back because their going to try and clobber hard and fast with every thing they've got witch will suit us down to the ground because its looking like we have nearly perfected the counter attacking game ,ive got to say i haven't been so confident of west ham in years it was great last night to hear carriger and neville slightly in ore of west ham ,next thing you know. Liniker will be singing our praces .

Class act and a dream player for us to sign, thank god for the reluctance of Marseille to sell to PSG and for our board to react quickly to seal the deal. I read a few weeks ago that Allardyce claimed that he signed him before he left? but I just couldn't believe it, given his shocking record of buying attacking players and the fact that he always so negative. I have since read that Bilic signed him and had previously tried to sing him for Besiktas, so why the bullshit from Allardyce???
