Having seen the photos of the team at the airport in Malta, it worries me that we are persisting with virtually the same team that struggled to break down Birkirkara in the first leg. It looks like Slavan Bilic is staying with the same team (less Sakho) meaning we will be slow in midfield again (Nolan and Noble) and slow to go forward with Miaga up front and then presumably Lee later on.
I can understand him wanting to protect and prepare his first team for the season ahead but a 1-0 lead away from home and having seen West Ham slip so many times I for one am not confident that we are going to remain in the Europa Cup with fielding so many players who lets face it, wont see much first team action this coming season.
I just hope a week later they are fitter and we at least win!!! Thoughts? am I the only one not that confident?

West Ham have completed the signing of Argentinean attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini from Al Jazira, he has already undergone a medical at Hammer's private medical facility, and is hoped to be a replacement for Stewart Downing. David Gold confirmed the move today, tweeting that the midfielder – nicknamed ‘the jewel’ – has signed for the club from Al Jazira. The move has been confirmed on the O/S as well. Lanzini arrives on a season's loan, with a view to a permanent move should his stay with West Ham be successful, he signed for Al Jazira from River Plate for a fee in excess of £5 Million, but it is believed the move was always seen as a 'stepping stone' for what is a very gifted footballer. Lanzini is the seventh player to arrive this summer, and with only one out so far, expect a few more departures within the next week- Ed

Anyone going to this one? Payet and Sakho not eligible for Malta game, so good chance they will get another run out. Several ex West Ham youngsters, including George Moncur in the U's squad.

Blimey, Daily Telegraph is saying Carroll won't be ready until Mid-October. We need to get someone else in surely now if true. Looks like Payet is a good find from today's game.

Would anyone go to Romania should we play Astra?

Submitted by Gerus on Fri, 17/07/2015 - 14:47

So the draw for the next round is out. Still a long way to go but should we play Astra in Romania would anyone of you guys go on a tour and watch the game live. As some of you know I live in Bulgaria and I'm holding my breath for us to play Astra. Should we play them how on earth would I receive my ticket back in Bulgaria if they're released on General Sale 4 days before actual game?
