Relegation dogfight

For once I think its safe to say we will not be involved in it but looking at the table as it is if the bottom 3 stay as they are(I no villa are nailed on to go down)what would it mean for the premier league and the championship? 3 massive clubs relegated and into a championship where nothing is taken for granted other than getting out of it is extremely difficult....and for the premier league to lose clubs like that will it make the league weaker or just prove regardless of history/reputations nobody is guaranteed a place at the big table. middlesborough look about the most consistent team in the championship and I think will come up after that everyone else seems to be blowing hot and cold...derby/hull may challenge for the final automatic place and then the play offs and I would think Ipswich with old mick McCarthy may be the surprise package there so villa/sunderland/Newcastle down boro/derby or hull/Ipswich promoted would that be a fair exchange? and would you be sorry to see the back of villa&co or are you a traditionalist and prefer the smaller clubs to have there moment in the sun before crashing and burning back down the leagues?

Team for f.a. Cup?

What your team for the fa cup be? We need a decent enough team but due to players coming back, maybe players being rested and not wanting to rush players who would you choose? Based on who I'm told will be available I'd go for 1 Adrian 2 jenkinson 3 Hendrie 4 song 5 Collins 6 Reid 7 Antonio 8 Moses 9 Carroll 10 obiang 11 Oxford subs Randolph, Tonka, Payet, jelavic, Valencia., cresswell,

Lanzini out for 6 weeks

its a blow to lose someone with his ability to make things happen....I am sure the squad can cope but I hope every effort is now put into why we seem to be suffering such major injuries time and again.....Lanzini had to be given a run out and of course it was unfortunate he pulled up as we were all enjoying his performance but like any player coming back from an injury you always fear this will happen just look at kompany at citeh.......cant wait to see him back before the seasons over he has been a marvellous player for us and like payet he has put a smile on our faces with his performances.

Sacking Of Benitez Proves Hammers Dodged A Bullet!

West Ham United co-owner and majority share holder, David Sullivan, recently re-confirmed that the club had been two hours away from agreeing a deal to bring Rafa Benitez to the Boleyn as manager when the spaniard was offered the chance of a life time to go and manage Real Madrid in his homeland in what was supposed to be a match made in heaven. Benitez's sacking today by Real Madrid was not because of results essentially, but his inability to engage with the fans who are the backbone of the club, paradoxically, the appointment of Slaven Billic as a replacement for Sam Allardyce, now trying to steady the ship at relegation threatened Sunderland, was seen as an enormous risk with relegation from the Barclays Premier League unthinkable ahead of the club's move from the Boleyn to the Olympic Stadium. Benitez had insisted on a relatively huge transfer kitty that had been put in place, ironically this ensured that Slaven Billic, the eventual choice as manager, had the necessary funds available to pursue his main transfer targets once he had eventually been appointed, of course the club have for some reason (probably to promote a movie) publicly stated that they had also placed Jurgen Klopp ahead of Billic as a potential manager.
Would Benitez have got better results than Billic, maybe? Would Benitez have been able to galvanise the crowd in the way Billic has, even from the day he was first introduced for the initial round of the europa cup qualifiers at a packed Boleyn Ground? Most definitely not! It is the considered opinion of many West Ham fans, and most wider observers generally, that Hammers most certainly dodged a bullet by having been 'let down' as a consequence of Benitez's decision to go to Real Madrid.
Benitez's inability to deal with a talented group of players as well as relate to a passionate crowd that take no prisoners, has highlighted his short comings as a manager who can lead a club 'to another level'. As such West Ham fans, and club co-owners, should be thankful that the hand of fate that was dealt the club was a decent one for once! - Ed

Alan shearer gave us much praise on MOTD have his blinkers been taking off......I wonder if anyone will ask him and the others in the media how are we managing to do what we are doing without there best buddie bfs.......maybe the question they should ask is to the sunderland fans ...be careful what you wish for(they wanted bfs) and just look what is happening to them.

with all the transfer rumours etc I just wonder would you miss him if we sold him? he has talent no doubt but does tend to want to dribble past 5/6 players not get his head up and make a pass when options on....he can be very good and then just be average...frustrating player and now our other players coming back to fitness he is dropping down the pecking order.....so would you be tempted to sell or stick with him as a back up?

Blood to be spilt at the BBC

With 3 players in the BBC team of the Week, I'm fully expecting Garth Crooks and the tipping guru Mark some thing or other to come to blows. Whilst Garth gives a balanced view on why they are in the team, Lawro can't take the blinkers off in his spite for WH and will be looking to give Crooks a severe ear bashing for going against the grain.
Collins, Noble and Antonio fully deserve their places in the team and put their overpriced counterparts well and truly in their place on Saturday. COYI

Hammers Sweat On Lanzini Scan

The only bubble that burst at the Boleyn during the two nil trouncing of Liverpool by West Ham United was Manuel Lanzini getting injured. Was the diminutive Argentine rushed back too soon? In the 38 minutes he was on the pitch he stroked the ball around with aplomb and hit the post with a wonderful swirling shot that had Minolet left for dead in the visitors goal. Early reports are that the injury is not serious, an initial scan is to be followed up by a second which will fully illustrate the extent of the injury For a while the cutting edge that Lanzini had brought to the table was missing, fortunately order was restored and the Boleyn faithful treated to a superb performance, the first time West Ham had beaten Liverpool with a five goal aggregate since 1932 and the first double since 1963, the fans were also rewarded as the match reached it's latter stages with nearly half an hour of the 'Dimitri Payet' show, alone worth every penny of the admission price and much much more!
Jurgen Klopp looked more like his cousin Klipperty, while Slaven Billic looked like the mongoose who had just got all the eggs! - Ed
