Where To Now?

Statistically West Ham United should be 'hunkering down' for what will be a rocky ride from now until the end of a season that promised so much, but has delivered far too little.

In fact many supporters are of the opinion that surviving relegation itself will be an achievement given the strengthening other teams have made of their squads during the recently closed transfer window.

It is very tight at the bottom and Hammers do NOT have any easy fixtures any time soon, starting with the tricky Toon fixture, once kindred spirits of disillusionment and despair, the Geordies are now 'considerably wealthier than thou' and don't breathe the same polluted air as East London's homeless!

It is not just the amount of money that Newcastle have, it is the way that they have gone about spending it, they have made a couple of rash purchases and paid over the odds here and there, but all in all they have got good value and are now serious top four contenders, as Tommy Cooper used to say, "just like that!"

In a way the club are stuck between a rock and a hard place, having backed their manager both in the transfer market AND as a manager when the club have been enduring an atrocious run of form, they have few options available in fact only TWO!

Stick or twist, either the club closes ranks and backs Moyes irrespective of which League the club ends up in, or they pull the trigger and bring in what? another David Moyes?

Whatever the outcome fans will back the club through thick and thin, it's what they do, but we've got a bad bad feeling there is going to be a lot of darkness before the light! Trip Smith has emerged as a bit of a power broker now that his 10% of the club could be used for 'leverage' purposes. - Ed

Got to laugh and have to say i had been waiting for a story like this once the window shut and moyes and co never fail....last year we were chasing Darwin Nunez and failed with a late bid at the end of the window along with Kalvin Phillips...this time around it was a late bid for Sander Berge at The Blunts but it failed....i am sure Downes must be thinking WTF more have i got to do to deserve a start in the prem and the manager who has problems upfront and at the back decided Midfield was a priority lol....prob all boolox but where there is smoke as they say and could it be Moyes and co trying to look like they had tried once again but just could not get a deal done.....i cant wait for this season to be over and hopefully wherever we end up Moyes will be gone and Sullivan and Brady to follow.

Geordies

So how do we approach a subject like Newcastle ?, got to say they looked unstoppable tonight against Staints who put up a spirited fight once they survived the initial onslaught ,but the Giordies were always in control .
Well i think its pretty predictable ,Moyes ,unless im very much mistaken will sit back and try to hit them on the break ,in other words Ant running the bollox off himself untill he takes him off with 15 minuets to go Fourcandles and the Chec will bludgion thier way around the place like a couple of headless chickens ,Bowen will run up and down the right flank until hes put in the middle with the departure of Ant our full back will be like dear caught in the headlights ,Rice will be uninterested making sure he doesn't get injured ahead of his move to the gooners .
If the Geordies play like they did tonight in the first half they'll eat us with salt & pepper ,its outstanding the 180 % turn in them i one year,
My advice ?, try and freak them out like the saints did, send someone out to buy some light blue away shirts, make them think their playing man shity.

but all the media speculation about that’s going on with West Ham, players futures speculation and transfers and such and the Noble incident. It just seems to me that it’s all coming out when we are low in the table and it seems to be leaked by someone around the club and it’s taking the focus off the fact that the board failed to act months ago on Moyes and his stubborn ineptitude at getting the team firing. We have good players at our club but Moyes always wants to make them play positions they are not use to and it shows in our results. He stated he wants the Red Bull style of young players but won’t give our young players a chance, he sticks with his tried and trusted players that are out of form and getting older even though he has players like Flynn Downes, Ashley, Divin and such but never gives them a chance. The thing is the board where gutless when it was required and now all these rumours of Ant and Decs transfer babble coming out just seem to be covering up the real problems.

If we had sacked Moyes i would not of been against us getting this man in as our manager although i am aware he is one of the latest Marmite men in football.....But now he is Evertons new manager i am pretty sure he will keep them up and most likely finish above us....did we miss a trick here?
