Are Lazio Having A Giraffe?
We know it is silly season for transfers, a period of time when ludicrous transfer rumours are the order of the day and when the press never let the truth get in the way of a good story. Well at least that's what most Hammers fans will be thinking when they read that the club which sold Felipe Anderson to West Ham for close on £40 Million, want to take him back for free, but with a 50% sell on fee!
Are Lazio having a Giraffe? They are a bit like a burglar who robs someone's house and then knocks on the door a few years later offering to sell them the items he had half inched from them, at a knock down price of course! The sheer audacity of their purported proposal beggars belief, they might as well say "we mugged you once, and now we are going to mug you again, if you are really lucky we might just toss you a bone".
Now we are not privy to the exact goings on during the 'Pellegreedy' era, but we are pretty damn sure no one at the club actually did, so some of the figures banded around about players' costs might have been 'massaged' to make Hammers look like bigger spenders than they actually were.
However, given the ludicrous wages they handed out to Yarmolenko and Wilshere, anything is possible, but either way Anderson definitely cost big bucks and is worth only a fraction of the fee paid. His £80,000 wages are the same as Winston Reid's, the Kiwi still having two years left on his contract.
Reid is unlikely to feature for the first team, he will be on the bench at best, but Anderson should still have the ability to play. We have already covered what happened to Anderson in the previous article, on reflection though perhaps it WAS Moyes who 'destroyed' Anderson, and maybe the club now just want to cut their losses by removing his £80,000 per week from the wages bill.
It doesn't seem to make much sense to 'lose' Anderson for next to nothing, it makes absolutely no sense to let Lazio get their hands on him..........the club should tell Lazio exactly where to shove their 50% offer! - Ed
