    You all know what i mean by that......Haller i was willing to give him a go but his performances are so ineffective i cannot see the point as to picking him and Moyes must make a change.....if he wants to keep Bowen and Fornals wide then Benrahma must play through the middle as the striker but i would prefer Bowen in that role have Fornals switch sides and have Benrahma play down the left...but whatever Moyes decides he knows Haller is not the answer and he needs strikers big time...The shot of Gold sitting in the stand after the match i am sure even he sees the need to open the coffers whether he likes it or not and he has to back Moyes.

    West Ham and David Moyes are doing their best to recruit additional 'hungry' players to the squad once the January transfer window opens, high on the list is the need for a left back. Other areas need strengthening, but it is the troublesome left back berth that is hardest to fill.
    Having already lost Authur Masuaku for the foreseeable future, and then seen Aaron Cresswell 'turn' his ankle on the cheap sacking that surrounds the London Stadium pitch, Moyes has very few options, with only Ben Johnson as the only recognisable left back, and even then he is normally more comfortable as a right back!

    It's understood that West Ham, along with a fair few other clubs have expressed a firm interest in bringing Oleksandr Zinchenko to the London Stadium initially on loan, with an option to buy. The 24 year old is considering his options as a result of the interest, although he refused a £16m move to Wolves when he was in a similar position in 2018, they remain interested in him, as do Southampton, Leicester.

    There are also clubs all over Europe keen to take him. There is interest from Russia – where Zinchenko previously played - as well as Italy, Spain and Germany.Zinchenko has made five appearances in all competitions this season and has made 73 in total for City since arriving from Russian side Ufa in 2016. His contract runs until 2024, and should they sell him on in January, City could stand to make a massive profit on a player they signed for less than £2m.
    West Ham most definitely do not have the money to even consider a permanent deal at the present, but moving to East london might appeal to the player, given the fact that he would most likely get more game time than at any of the other purported destinations. The fact that there is already a Ukrainian, as well as two Czech Republic players at the club already, might sway his decision.

    Zinchenko would be a superb addition to David Moyes' squad, the finances will be the stumbling block, but where there's a will, there's a way!- Ed

    It must be an age thing. Or maybe tier 3 reactionary. Or a 2020 symptom generally.
    But I was sitting down yesterday, staring at my laptop, counting down the days till I can close the lid for the Christmas holidays and began reflecting.
    Life, family, friends, what makes us happy?
    Family. Can't live with em, can't live without em. 2020 has really put every aspect of family life under the microscope. If your fortunate enough to have a tight knit unit, the impact has been lessened. WhatsApp groups with aunts uncles and cousins sharing millions of GIFs, making each other laugh. Just, being there...
    West Ham has been in my top 3 for pretty much all of my 44 years, which is ironic given their actual lack of success. From my first game with Dad and Grandad. Parking outside Nan and Grandad house in Glasgow Road and making the shirt 10 minute walk to the ground. Seeing the theater begin the rise from the horizon as we turned into Green St. The smell of cigar smoke, the smell of booze, the raucous laughter. Seeing the exposed West stand with people looking down on you. The colours, police horses. Going through a turnstile for the first time, slightly scared as it was a cage, but excited. Then walking up those steps. The vivd green baize coming into view. Then the people. Wow. The people. All of these people with the same love as me. And that was it. My vein was opened, the claret n blue toxin was injected and would never let me go. Even when I've hated them I've loved them.
    Friends. Relationships formulated through school, work, social life, West Ham. The org.
    Life goes on, people come and go.
    The common thread for a lot of people is their team. The ability to go to games has really exposed a nerve for many, me included.
    Those that say, I'd watch West Ham in the conference on Hackney Marshes if I had to. Well, I would, and I think many here are the same.
    Which got me to thinking (and many have done this before) who are your memories from the Org?
    Sadly I have forgotten lots of names, but seeing Chippy Dave and ANTKB on here the other day actually brought joy to my (little) heart. 2 wonderful veterans of the org.
    Others I recall, Bobshep? Dave F King? Fanno used to divide people and was banned from here many a time but caused debate and I loved him. Be was on Twitter too till a while ago.
    Ayecliff? Reversed? The Aussie chap I met and we went to a friendly at Southend about 15(?) Years ago with some others from the org? Who was that group?!?! I've forgotten so many names.
    I you remember some, it would be good to see them mentioned in this post.
    If you are one of those names and still scan the org, let us know! Would be lovely to hear from some of the tapestry of this club.
    Or if you know of some of these old stalwarts, or what may have happened to them, that would be good too.
    Right, that's enough reflection, time for a Tom tit.

  • Why Is Tapping Up Tolerated?

    Most fans are as baffled by how FFP doesn't seem to apply to the 'big' clubs as they are about the circumstances regarding the unfair 'tapping up' of players, again involving the 'big' clubs, there is legislation in the FA rule book covering the issue, unfortunately it was made BEFORE the advent of social media and it's ubiquitous spin offs and as such is no longer fit for purpose!

    How many times in the last 12 months has the 'Declan to Chelsea' story been covered? Or more recently the 'Declan to Manu' or even the 'Soucek to Bayern' stories and rumours? The fact is that club's can use social media in a way that completely obviates the outdated current rules regarding tapping up, and it is very obvious that some, more than others, have invested heavily in social 'influencers', and we're not talking about fashion tips and life style advice either.

    It doesn't take much effort for a club to surreptitiously begin a media 'drip' campaign based around their interest in a particularly targeted player, once upon a time a club would 'door step' the parents of young players in order to 'influence' their next club of choice. Now it is no longer necessary, all that has to be done is to set up a constant stream of information 'snippets', analysis of the amount of media attention that Declan Rice is getting shows clear and present pre-meditation of what is going on now, and until the rules governing the tapping up of players are brought in to this century, 'big' clubs will continue to prosper by exploiting (a) the weakness of the legislation and (B) the complete lack of enforcement by either the Premier League or the aptly named FA! - Ed

  • All Quiet On The West Ham Front?

    It appears that Hammers boss, David Moyes' 'mole hunting', is beginning to pay dividends as for once there is only speculation regarding players' fitness issues, as opposed to info straight from the horses mouth as it had been. You may wonder what the problem is? The 'problem' is not whether information should be in the public domain, that is often inevitable, but it is how it gets there and it's full extent of disclosure of what can be very sensitive information, not just because of alerting other teams ahead of games as to which personel will be used, but also for the players themselves.

    Some details should remain private and confidential, the medical for Said Benrahma being a case in point, the 'issue' that showed up during the medical was enough to make what was supposed to be a pernament deal in to a loan to buy deal. Players, despite being paid exhorbitantly well for their services, are after all still very human, those who suffer repeated injuries dread the press comments almost as much as the injury itself!

    Moyes' bruised and battered under strength squad have just three days to recover ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge on monday evening, doubts surrounding the fitness of Aaron Creswell, Jarrod Bowen and Fabian Balbuena in addition to those of Michail Antonio and Authur Masuaku, will have many fans fearful of the outcome of Monday's London Derby against a very, very good, Chelsea team.

    In the past Hammers have become somewhat of a bogey team for Chelsea, much will depend on whether the Irons newly efficient medical team can work their wonders during the next 'woodstock' period, Ben Johnson must surely be added to the match day squad as back up, and perhaps one or two of the U-23's might be drafted in.

    If a decent starting line up can be configured then who knows? Reverting to three at the back is a must, because in the last two games the once solid defence has looked incredibly porous, more of that and Monday night's game might be a 'Stamford Bridge' too far! - Ed

  • Keeping us honest

    Last nights result against Palace whilst disappointing it shows that we still have a lot of work ahead of us,the squad is paper thin and seeing Nevs post about us being down to the bare bones is not telling us fans anything new,in these hard times the board are not going to be loosening the purse strings anytime soon and what Moyes may like i am sure he will not be surprised when told know we cannot afford it so loans will probably be the only kind of business we do if any in January.
    i only caught the highlights of the game on MOTD and have to say i was extremely disappointed in our defending for there goal and playing a flat back four seems to have us back to our old shaky selves in defence and then bam out of the blue Haller does that and it was a worldy the Lovely Roy Hodgson saying as much but apart from that listening to Moyes saying we were flat and had no get up and go was worrying as this has happened on a few occasions already this season and he cannot put the finger on as to why this also adds to my worries.
    Of course regardless of what happens from now until the new year we have to say its the first christmas in a long time that we go into not fearing the worse and however this season pans out for us i feel bold enough to say at least this time around we are not going to be fighting a relegation battle COYI and a merry christmas to all my fellow orgers xx
