with the arrival of Zabaletta what does Bilic have in mind? surely he is thinking back 4? not saying i agree but if he's got zabaletta then he can't play a back 3 as antonio gets left out? is he going back to the 4-2-3-1? if so the lone striker comes back to haunt us again. personally id go 3-5-2 using antonio wide and I'm not sure where zabaletta would go now. can't see him going 4-4-2 so whats your thinking on bilic's thinking?
Luis Muriel aka the colombian ronaldo!! thats what they call him well we are very interested in him for £24million ....now lazio/inter/liverpool/leicester/ all looked at him i reckon they say that because we would be dumb enough to buy!! come on apart from Tevez& Lanzini who from that part of the worlds been good for us? wanchope err no barrera yeah mmm he was meant to be a bit special as well what happened there...please just stick closer to home because £24million would be a helluva punt
Some of the stuff on here is depressing. Basically if we are "rumoured", i.e. a paper or newsfeed has written something, it means we are negotiating. Does it? Do we really believe everything we read? The Giroud deal is easy, just pay Arsenal the money, forget the player and where he wants to play. He must be falling over himself to play at West Ham. That great bottom half team in London, fighting for, err.. nothing very season. Forget Lyon, Champions League, the world cup next year and getting into the French squad at 31. Giroud is nailed on to want to join west Ham. If only we'd pay the money, the multi multi multi millionaire thickos. Then there's Onyekuru, scores a hatful of goals in the Belgium League and is not good enough, yet Lanzini who played in the Abu Dhabi league is? Theo Walcott is injury prone, doesn't play at Arsenal, yet he started 29 games and came on as sub 8 times scoring 19 goals, but he's not good enough? Oh and got 47 caps for England and scored 8 goals at 28. Basically the rule on here is if we want to sign someone they're crap, until theres a "rumour" someone else wants to sin them, then they're a world beater. All players are clambering to join mid table mediocre West Ham, and all we have to do is stump up the cash, simple. Especially 15 plus goal a season strikers! 71 cap 30 year old Joe Hart, having won two Premier League titles, Fa Cup and League cups is crap and worse than Adrian and Darren Randolph!!? Somebody said they'd have kept Norvedit, or did I dream that? Oh and Crystal Palace are more progressive because they want Frank De Boer! So progressive that if Allardyce hadn't retired they'd still have the T-Rex of football! Frank De Boer great player, managed Ajax in an average league and failed at Inter. But he's a better bet than Bilic. Scratching my head here lads, maybe I need a holiday or a break from the org? But its very depressing reading on here all the time. Lighten the f**** up
3 appearances for us last season. Looks like after a great career spanning many seasons of hard work, he decided to have one on us and top up the pension pot.
Dont know about you but I think Wallcott will fit in beautifully at West Ham in the hospital bed alongside Carrol and Sacko. I Also see that Oneyruku has now got a work permit for the UK this is the sort of player we should be going after not some injury prone player like Theo Wallcot we had enough of them last season.
Sometimes you question being a hammers fan. So after seeing a mention of pop robson I you tubed him, and immediately remember why. Saw a video and it's so easy to forget the exciting players we have had to watch in my time. Not so much now. No one worth watching this season. We all know the greats but there is so many more you take for granted. Pop robson, pat Holland, David cross, graham pad don, frank snr, billy Jennings, Keith Robson the list is many. Even loved the fact players had to take a corner from the first row in the stand. We don't have these now, so depressing.
We were going to go live with an astonishing article based on what was supposed to be realistic information, however given that it is the time of the summer solstice and the Glastonbury Festival we eventually assumed someone had been already engaging in their pre-festival warm up activities. However this story has some strange 'legs' on it given who might be the player involved, suffice to say the two Davids love a coup especially Mr Sullivan! What would you do as an owner of a club who albeit wealthy cannot begin to compete with mega wealthy Uber Billionaires? The move to the London Stadium was a stepping stone, but the Hammer's hierarchy face a club's future changing decision if they go down the bridge too far option that they have supposedly been presented with, it would essentially mean parting with a percentage of the club to finance the deal in some way shape or form. A player of this magnitude could only be Carlos Tevez or heaven forbid Cristiano Ronaldo! however as all Hammers fans know it will be Olivier Giroud at the best, not that he is a bad option although he does fit in to the expensive with little sell on value bracket associated with recent West Ham signings, apparently he will be under going a medical after a family holiday, we shall see, but a 'proper player is definitely about to arrive, a certain Mr Sullivan will be imploding having to sit on the details! You can find some interesting odds for how West Ham United will fare in the transfer market as well as odds for the new season at free bets on Freebets.com, there is always an inevitable clamour for news of signings but fans desperate to hear transfer news, especially when other clubs appear very active should remember last season's smoke and mirrors news about players coming in, some say it was to sell season tickets although that might be disingenuous to the board! However there is no such problem this year with a massive waiting list to take up those who didn't renew, Pablo Zabaleta arriving at the London Stadium might not seem very spectacular, but Manchester City are replacing him with an expensive signing who is two years older! So fears that he is past his prime would seem to be unfounded. The astute signing of a 'proper' leader of the medical team is also a canny bit of business, one which will pay dividends in the future. And speaking of the future, last season's recruitment was quite frankly underwhelming at the least, too much emphasis was placed on 'bulking up', this was obviously a massive failure, hopefully lessons will have been learned because quality not quantity is what is needed, and if the club want to swell their numbers, why not use some of the once fabled academy's players? They cannot be worse than Zaza,Calleri, Toure and Arbeloa! Nordveit was a different kettle of fish though! Reece Oxford has been sent to Germany as part of the plan to have him be captain of West Ham United, he has been 'groomed' from an early age for greatness, but unfortunately greatness might elude him due to a future career threatening injury from an over zealous player out to make a point! Let's hope not. Fans have got to get used to a board that is finally keeping their powder dry, it might be frustrating but in the long run it will probably be the best thing, bet young Jack is horrified at the prospect of being recalcitrant! - Ed
Bit of light hearted stuff for a Friday folks. I thought our luck was hampered by an old UP curse but maybe not.
Looking at the high emotional video used to entice us to part with hard earned cash for the new seasons shirt I note again that the original crossed hammers show the hammer heads face pointing away from each other unlike todays badge where the heads face inwards.
Now this got me thinking. Its known to be bad luck to have a horse shoe that points downward as the Luck is said to run out so clearly our bad luck was no Indian Burial ground at the Boleyn, rubbish players, a gypsy curse or a drab but much loved song that refects on "like my dreams they fade and die" its all down to the dam badge being the wrong way round :o)
Happy Friday everyone, COYI's!!!!
In the last 18 months our board have acted in the most crazy and incompetent way they must surely be currently the worst in the premier league. But now it has come to light there is a contender to their crown. Admittedly it's an outsider but I'm sure Sullivan, Brady and gold won't take this laying down. West brom are reported to be giving Johnny Evans a new deal worth 100,000k a week! So, the ball is in sullivans court as he won't want anyone stealing his limelight. Watch this space.
