I, like many other fans would like to see us have a decent cup run this season and considering our depth this appears to be the season. However I would rather us go for the FA cup rather than the League Cup. Anyway considering that the team just won an exhausting encounter at the Etihad against City the question becomes who starts against Leicester. Unfortunately for us Jelavic and Antonio are cup tied. This would have been a great opportunity to get them out and playing. I fully expect Randolph, Collins, Oxford, Zarate and Carroll to start. We may even see game time for Hendrie and Cullen. However if we throw out a team of youngsters and barely fit players we could struggle against Leicester so what 11 do we pick??
I cannot believe it MOTD actually gave us praise...begrudgingly but praise and Shearer was apoplectic about his beloved Necastle...also can I just give massive praise to the way Super Slav conducts himself and interviews...a real breath of fresh air and brings a huge amount of gravitas, honesty and morality to our club and indeed the premier league.
Quck up date after 6 league and Euro games..... Moi (Plaistow) £1 per goal ..... £21 for Great Ormond St. Hospital.
Burkie 10 euros pre penalty for and against .... 20 euros for Dogs Trust , Ireland.
NT Hammer £10 for every place above relegation.... (thus far looking at £160 for Make a Wish Foundation)
Bullyhammer £1 a point ..... £12 for McMillan Nurses !
So far well done guys .. any more takers?
With our terrific start to the season and who would have predicted 3 away wins out of 3 (only our second win at The Emirates "first since the great escape season", our first win at Anfield in 53 years and our first ever win against the Billionaires of Man. City at The Etihad) 3 huge wins against 3 sides that finished above us last season and two of those were top four finishers. Now I've got the obvious out of the way my concerns are how long before the so called "Big Boys" come sniffing around Reid, Payet, Adrian, Tomkins... ? but my biggest concern is how long before we play sides who will try and kick us off the pitch? we all know that will come around at some time. I am over the (Blue) moon at our start and hat's off to Allardyce, Gold, Sullivan and Brady for keeping hold of Winston Reid who must be the Leagues top performer so far (I know it's only 6 games) Arsene must be wishing he offered a lot more than £4m for his services. The board will be busy but we seem to have a happy camp with a team ethic and well done Slaven Billic who seems to have found a style that suits and is having some meaningful success , very happy, very proud and it will make going into work on Monday all the more pleasurable.
Atmosphere, Ionosphere And Stratosphere! That is where bubbles go! Of course they fade and die, but while they fly they nearly reach the sky, currently, on their way, West Ham United have encountered and beaten three of the best teams in the Barclays Premier League on their travels. The first, a victory against Arsenal at the Emirates was seen as the 'freak of the week' result by BBC pundits, the second against Liverpool was described as totally unexpected by all and sundry and now a 2- 1 victory against title leaders Manchester City, who had not conceded a Premier league goal all season, Hammers have finally been shown the respect that the team deserve.
The match against Manchester City is first up on match of the day!!!! Unbelievable, in fact it is almost as unbelievable as West Ham United winning their first three away fixtures against Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City!
Yes, if you are viewing this from a south sea atol or a boat in the middle of the Ocean or anywhere else this is all true and not a delusion! Although it might be time to be temporarily delusional with the assistance of some liquid refreshment, because when things are going well, the odd hangover is easily forgotten, or remembered with fondness for why it occurred in the first place.
These are happy times to be a hammer! - Ed

Slaven Billic has finally recruited the last of his West Ham back room staff with the appointment of Nikola Jurcevic as his assistant manager joining first team coach Edin Terzic, head of performance Miljenko Rak, goalkeeping coach Chris Woods and coaching assistant Julian Dicks. Jurcevic and Billic worked together at Lokomotiv Moscow and Besiktas as well as with the Croatian national side.
Jurcevic told the official west ham website www.whufc.com: “I am very happy that I can start work at the Club, I am very motivated for the future and think we have a good team. I hope we will have a very good season,“I have worked with Slaven for a number of years with the Croatian national team, Lokomotiv Moscow and Besiktas. He called me about West Ham and I said yes straight away.“I am very excited to work in England because I think that Premier League is one of the best in the world.“I know it is a big opportunity for me and I am happy to work in the Premier League, live in London and work for a big club like West Ham.“I know Slaven well and when I started my career as a coach and was manager in Croatia, Slaven called me when he was national coach and we worked together for six-years. We are good friends but we have a similar view on football and we work really well together.“I am professional, have a big experience in football having worked in Belgium, Austria, Germany and have played in the big tournaments in Europe. I also have the experience as a coach and will do my best for West Ham. I hope we will be successful.
