Something Different
Forums:
This time last year I wrote a piece here which I called " The First Sunday In September " and with this weekend being a quite weekend football wise I thought some Hammers fans might give this a look. Tomorrow in Dublin, Croke Park will be full to capacity with over 82,000 fans for the All- Ireland hurling final between Galway and Kilkenny. Football is a global game and probably the most popular game in the world. But this game is recognised as the fastest field game in the world and though I love football and the Hammers this to me is the best field game in the world . Lonely Planet guide listed it in the top ten "local" sports that every traveller should see. National Geographic said The All- Ireland hurling final is the " sporting experience of a lifetime". Some of the Hammers fans that saw it for the first time last year were blown away by it .It's an amateur game with no money involved played by people like you and me for the love of their Club and their County. I'm from Kilkenny they lead the national role of honour with 35 titles, and their nickname is The Cats. So my user name here tells you where I'm from. Galway haven't won a title since 1988, so I wouldn't begrudge them one tomorrow. Sky Sports has covered the game from last season and for the next two. This has given the game a world wide audience. If you want to give it a look it's on Sky Sports 5 tomorrow from around 3 o' clock. I don't think you will be too disappointed.
No game this week, so something light.

Yep no game this week, so something to discuss if you are bored. Watching TV this week and am beginning to wonder how some people manage to work on TV on a regular basis with no recognisable talent or personality in the field the occupy. Obvious football ones being match of the day pundits, but also people like Sue Perkins Mel gedroyed ( auto correct but can't be bothered to change) Miranda hart and that guy in Mrs browns boys. These are the dregs of British TV. Guaranteed to turn the TV off! Can anyone add to these? What Meeks it worse is these are off the bbc so it means we pay their wages through the TV licence! Ugh
Morgan in the Squad
Forums:
Morgan Amafitano has been included in Slav's first official Premier League squad. He provided some useful contributions last season as well as some more forgettable ones but considering he was an outcast for the first few games this season, what's the story here? Is he merely filler and cannot expect game time unless we go through injury armageddon and lose half the squad or is it a bit of bridge building and a slow reintroduction back into the frame?

Red card overturned but the club gets fined for 'failing to control it's players?'
Forums:
At a full house and where you cannot enter the field of play, and after the referee has made a bad mistake? So how did we 'fail to control our players?', should Bilic run on the pitch to calm them down? Did any of our players threaten the referee? Take emotion, caused by the referee on this occasion, out of the game and what will you be left with? A bunch of cheats diving around getting fellow professionals sent off and getting away with it, Danny Ings and co! Disgraceful charge from the FA and no substance to such a charge in my book, your thoughts???
A match made in heaven

So Adebayor and Levy fail to reach agreement to end the Togo forward's contract. Apparently Adebayor wanted his final year paid up in full -- 5 million quid freebie in effect -- and Levy wasn't having it! So now Tottenham have to pay 100k a week for a player their manager has no intention of playing. Allegedly Adebayor was desperate to come here and play football, but not desperate enough to lose a red cent to bring that about. Personally I'm glad we haven't signed the bloke, he might have scored a few goals in his first few weeks, but his record shows he always then goes cold, and at what cost to team morale?
They are a fine pair, and I hope they have many more happy years together!!!

What a transfer season
Forums:
The two David's and SB have bought in 13 players and according to one source with the 5mill from Downing at an expenditure of just over 20mill. Nearly all of these players are first teamers with experience in the big leagues so the battle for first team places is going to be exciting to watch. With the eight or so players we have from last seasons window it shows the David's are really planning for the future and I for one am very excited. Being in Australia it's hard not to be jealous of all you supporters over there being able to go to the games especially this season as we draw closer to leaving our home at Upton Park but the move next season shows our intent to establish West Ham United as a force in the Premier league and that's fantastic for us supporters. I won't be able to get to any games this season but I have already started planning my holidays to come over for the first game at the Olympic stadium. Can't wait.
As a matter of interest I would like to know which of the new players excites the most , for me the ones that have played against Liverpool where fantastic but the one that impressed me the most was Lanzini, he never stopped running and his goal was a great way to show that he is here to play.Thoughts please .
