Another Tall Frog?-Ibrahim Sangare

What is it with big tall 6'4" or 6'5" French defenders and midfielders of African descent? There is a spate of them and then, just like Policemen and Busses, there are none around when you really need them! Well true to form just as Hammers midfield target Amadou 'another one' Onana gets snaffled by rampant inflationists Everton, a similarly 'statuesque' tall French defender has emerged in the form of PSV Eindhoven's Ibrahim Sangare.

Rob Newman, West Ham's head of recruitment, has been monitoring Sangare for some time, the player being yet another of Newman's extensive list compiled not only since he began work officially for West Ham but also while he was on 'gardening leave' following his departure from today's Premier League opponents Manchester City.

Ibrahim Sangare won't come cheap as he only recently signed a new 5 YEAR deal with the Dutch club, but a fee of around £20 Million should get the deal done as the finances available to Premier League clubs blows those of the Eredivisie clean out of the water!

Sangare is an Ivorian International player as is Hammers new signing Maxwel Cornet, so it is hoped that he might help influence the 24 year old Sangare to quit the Eredivisie and ply his trade in the 'best league in the world' as he has previously been quoted as describing the Premier League.

The player is needed now more than previously given the unfortunate injury to Aguard, although there had always been a desire to add strength in depth to Moyes' wafer thin squad which still needs a couple of new arrivals JUST to be back to last season's numbers!

Plenty of work still left to do, but hopefully Hammers can 'pull a flynn downes' and get a couple of deals over the line but under the radar sooner rather than later. - Ed

what i would like to see against City

For the team to put in the effort Fulham did against Liverpool yesterday they played wonderfully well against one of the favourites for the league. We need to match that effort 100% today and be on the front foot at home especially.

Manchester City have so many top class players it will be a difficult match but i believe we can get something from it if we stand up to the chalenge and not sit back if we do that we will be in trouble. So i hope Mr Moyes has a plan that differs from so many last season which was to sit back regardless of the opposition and hit on the break.

So come on West Ham give the full house something to be proud of you always have our backing so put on a show.

Vlasic

Rumours are that West Ham are trying to offload Vlasic with clubs interested. I think I would give him another season and see if he’s got to grips with the Premiership, can’t see the point in shipping out players when they’re struggling to get any real quality coming in the other way, he’s obviously a talented player and would think he would be better in a more central position. If he goes then what are we left with as cover, especially as West Ham have lost 3 or 4 from the first team squad.

Fab/Coufal/Zouma/Oggy...or Dawson/Cressy/Rice/Soucek/Bowen/Fornals/Lanzini/Antonio

Gosh after all the summer transfer nonsense it looks like we will start with the same old West Ham side as last season good to see a traditionalist like Moyes fighting the waves of change.

Seriously though Scamacca not matchfit Cornet if passes his medical before 12pm today he would be available for the citeh game but we all know Moyes doesn't do that he likes to bed players in slowly...Downes bench at best Aguerd injured.

Citeh/Forest/Brighton/Villa/Spuds/Chelski....and throw in Viborg in the Conference league playoff inbetween......

Moyes may get away with Citeh match because as it stands i cannot see us getting anything other than a proper spanking in that game(i hope to be proved wrong bigtime)and he may just get away with that one but against Forest he most definetly will not and he will be judged Harshly if we lose.

Seasons not started and a doom and gloom scenario awaits ffs give our boys a chance Bikey you say and i do and i so want them to do well but can anyone look me straight in the eye and say you have not had the same thoughts?.

Our squad even with Aguerd/Downes/Scamacca/Cornet needs more we all know it and if we do get stuffed Sunday and following week against Forest we lose you can bet your bottom dollar Alarm bells will be ringing in the boardroom and signings whether moyes approves or not will be made and you see then just how quick deals can be done and if Moyes does not like it then mr toasty is waiting in the wings to take charge.

Sister Scuppering Onana Deal!

If you wondered why on earth a 20 year old would turn down a £65,000 basic wage rising to £100,000 per week from a relatively high profile club playing in the most competitive league in the World and in a massive stadium, then look no further than family!

Hammers latest potential 'the transfer that never was' situation regarding Amadou Onana is a classic example of what happens when 'family' get involved professionally, having family members at the helm of young player's careers has become very common place in recent years with some spectacular high end deals being negotiated by relatively inexperienced Mothers, Fathers, Brothers and Sisters.

In Amado's case his sister Melisa is one of the three owners of Belgium based Be The Future Management and is the driving force behind the player's outrageous wage demands, she is apparently demanding £135,000 per week which Hammers simply won't pay. Her stance has particularly upset fellow company owner Geoffrey Hoogland who had mediated transfer talks and helped negotiate the massive £35 Million agreed between Lille and West Ham, Hoogland would have pocketed BTFM a minimum of £7.5 Million by taking a commission from BOTH sides as is quite normal now.

Don't forget the Agency also take 20% of Onana's wages, so all in all he IS their cash cow compared with the other 'mid range' players they represent who are generally marginalised Ligue 1 players at best, or only feature in other peripheral less competitive leagues.

Apparently Everton are now 'sniffing around' Onana, his sister will doubtless use the Toffees interest to try and 'pump up the volume', but Moyes and the club simply MUST stick to their guns and walk away from Melisa Onana's demands for her brother, she is perfectly entitled to aim for the moon, she might even reach the stars, but not over Stratford. - Ed

The King Is Dead-Long Live The King!

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Wed, 03/08/2022 - 19:56

Authur Masuaku has joined Turkish side Besiktas on a season's loan with an option to buy, Hammers will be payng 50% of 'King' Authur's wages. Masuaku's exit has intensified Hammers search for a replacement and the club
have reignited their interest in Burnley's versatile winger Maxwel Cornet after growing frustrated with their pursuit of Frankfurt's Filip Kostic.

David Moyes had considered Cornet earlier in the window but had opted to pursue Kostic instead, indeed the Kostic deal looked as if it was going to happen and it might still because he shares the same agent as Gianluca Scamacca, however Kostic's uncertainty regarding moving to East London as opposed to staying put and playing in the Champions League for Frankfurt means that Moyes is now looking elsewhere.

25 year old Ivory Coast international Maxwell Cornet has had offers from Nottingham Forest, Everton, Fulham and Newcastle United but didn't fancy any of them. He scored nine goals last season after joining Burnley from Lyon and has a £17.5 Million release clause, but it is understood that has to be paid in one instalment or Burnley will look for a fee of over £25 Million if paid in instalments.

Fulham have offered £5 Million for an initial loan with a further £20 Million should they stay in the Premier League, but Cornet is unhappy about leaving a relegated team for one which is threatened with relegation. Similarly Everton have also proposed a loan while Forest thought they had an agreement with Burnley over the fee but couldn't find agreement on personal terms with the player.

Moyes is ready for West Ham to make it a permanent deal despite some early reservations about previous injuries as his need for cover at left back and on the wing has intensified due to the'King's' departure to Besiktas. Burnley are looking to replace Cornet with Manuel Benson from FC Antwerp, with the 25 year old due for a medical ahead of agreeing a four year deal.

Cornet could blow a good tune for Moyes and the boys!- Ed
