Beeb In A Hurry To Bust Hammers

West Ham have banned a supporter for life after a racist video was posted on social media, the club moved quickly to ban the supporter in question with a spokesperson saying the club was made aware of "disgusting" footage of a fan making racist remarks to away fans at London Stadium early last season. "The club handed evidence to the police and banned an individual for life from our stadium. No place for it at our club," said the Hammers on Twitter, we have a "zero tolerance of abhorrent behaviour."

"Equality and diversity is at the heart of the football club and we are committed to continue ensuring that everyone who enters London Stadium is free to enjoy watching their team play football in an inclusive environment." Correct and admirable words, there is little more the club can do other than issue a life time's ban, the person in question will suffer, but no where near as much as the club itself.

Mindless acts of racism have a negative collateral effect on the club, this was evident today as the BBC were so quick to criticise West Ham that they made an error in their cutting and pasting of the 'dirt' they had on file relating to the Hammers. Here is how part 2 of the BBC's article began .................ormer Director of Player Recruitment Tony Henry was sacked in February 2018 after racist comments made in an interview with the Daily Mail regarding Diafra Sakho and other players of African origin were revealed. NOTE the missing F from former Director!

The article continues .......In November of the same year a youth team coach was forced to undertake anti-discrimination classes after it was found that he had brought the club into disrepute and breached its social media policy. In March 2019 vice chair Karren Brady wrote to the London Assembly in order to deny reports that the club had an affiliation with the Democratic Football Lads Alliance (DFLA), after a member of the Official Supporters' Board (OSB) left the group by mutual consent. And in May another member of the OSB was reported to have posted images of a racist and misogynistic nature on social media. The member in question is believed to have retained their position on the OSB.

All right minded fans abhor racism and all it's connected activities, West Ham United appear to be doing their very best to stamp out all types of anti-social and racist attitudes and should be commended for that achievement rather than receiving a cheap shot from the Beeb, fans shouldn't really be surprised given the BBC's one sided grudging lack of acknowledgement of Hammers 2-0 victory over Manchester United at the London Stadium on Sunday. - Ed

Really want us to get a cup run together this season, just hope Pellegrini mixes it up and don't put too many reserves out, it would be so WHU to be too overconfident after our 4 clean sheets and think all we got to do is show up, and lose on Penalties like Millwall (broke my heart). After saying that I would like to see Nathan Holland and Ben Johnson play think he will play Roberto as well. Hope there isa Tv link as I have not seen one yet

Anderson Admits He Had To 'Man Up' At West Ham

In an interview with Brazil's top newspaper, O Globo, given just after West Ham United's 2-0 win over Manchester United, Felipe Anderson confided that when he first arrived at the London Stadium he was quite shocked at the lack of protection afforded players by the Referee and their assistants, of course he already knew the pace of the Barclays Premier League would be frenzied, but he admits he was initially 'overcome' by it's sheer physicality.

Fast forward a year from his arrival, and Felipe Anderson is a different beast. The talented Brazilian has added steel to his game, and is no longer a 'luxury' type of player that a manager fears sending out in to a tough encounter, no longer does Anderson get 'roughed up', far from it. Anderson doesn't grimace and look to blame someone else if he loses the ball, instead he tracks back, tackles and puts in a shift!

Now this reference to 'putting in a shift' is not confined to Anderson, the whole team has begun to play as one, and the results prove it. The point is, fans love a grafter particularly at home, if they see the effort they feel more inclined to be more supportive, this in turn has the knock on effect of making the London Stadium far more like a football ground than a soul less dome.

The quality addition of Pablo Fornals and the addition of Sebastian Haller have removed the burden of being the club's most expensive player from Anderson, and he is now playing with freedom and boy does it show. Felipe is now able to waltz through defenders safe in the knowledge that he has proper back up, runners left and right and most importantly, options. Having good players around him makes him even better, but it is not just Anderson who is benefiting from the extra quality around him, Skipper Mark Noble has been playing out of his skin, in a way similarly to how he played while Dimitri Payet was strutting his stuff in his heyday.

Manuel Pellegrini has gone about his business aided by the wonderfully mysterious but effective Mario (The Huse) Husillos, the Hammers manager has even managed to surreptitiously get majority share holder David Sullivan to channel his 'inner self' via a Hammers website in the guise of an 'insider'. The result is while information still leaks more than it should, there is a damage limitation factor built in, and the results so far are excellent.

Pelle and the Huse do the business, David Sullivan and David Gold get to bask in the glory, and why not? They have backed their manager, probably a bit more than they would have wished, but are now seeing the seeds beginning to grow of their 'big plan'. If the hierarchy can resist trying to make themselves more high profile, particularly if the club do achieve qualification for the European competitions, then there is no reason why their club, and it's hundreds of thousands of supporters world wide, shouldn't see their club clashing with the giants of Europe.

West Ham United, it's players and it's staff have the golden opportunity, particularly this season, to make the jump in to the top six. Chelsea are in transition, Tottenham's transfer policy of not buying players is beginning to bite, and of course Manchester United are 'up the creek without a paddle'. That is three of the accepted 'top six' who will struggle this season, it is generally accepted that Liverpool and Manchester City will be the top two teams so there are possibly four places up for grabs.

Finally, media talk that has been suggesting the Irons will not be discussing extending Manuel Pellegrini's contract until it is approaching the end of it's final year, this is not the case. Similarities have been drawn between and comparisons made regarding Slaven Billic's first season of over achievement being followed with mediocrity, and Manuel Pellegrini's, with the board apparently reluctant to offer a contract extension should things go belly up.

There is a parallel here, the board were reluctant to hand Declan Rice a substantial contract due to their past experiences with Reece Oxford, Oxford was given a huge deal for such a young player in order to fend of interest from many high profile clubs. The move back fired and the young man became a bit of a 'billy big bollocks' which didn't endear him with the rest of the squad, and he has now moved on. Rice, on the other hand, has become a consummate professional and is paying back the faith shown in him by his manager and the powers that be.

Next up, Oxford in the 'Elk' Cup, Manuel Pellegrini will have to balance his selection knowing that his team have to travel to Bournemouth this weekend, field a weakened team and get turned over, or risk injury to his top players by playing them? Pelle will probably keep his 'big guns' on the bench while giving a run out to players who need game time, there is even a rumour that Winston Reid, the forgotten man, the Kiwi warrior, might make his return to competitive football for the first time in nearly eighteen months, we wish him well. - Ed

Lanzini injury layoff poor management?

mcbikeman's picture
Submitted by mcbikeman on Tue, 24/09/2019 - 10:53

Having read on other club sites that Lanzini came back from international duty with a bruised foot after taking a kick on it and not really putting any weight on it why was he allowed to play in the Villa game? as we now know he is out for around 4 weeks who made that clever decision? watching the Villa game he was poor by his standards and knowing he was carrying that injury why even take a chance with it...El Pel of course listens to the head physio and Dr's on such matters but ultimately it is down to him and you could see he was not right so again why risk him when you have Forcandles waiting to get a chance and Villa away would of been easier for him than the Manure game which when he went wide he did better in....El Pel has been so careful when it comes to getting players back into the squad who have had an injury he never rushes them back so they can train and recover properly with less chance of the injury recurring so again the decision to play Lanzini seems a strange one for me.

Arthur or Cressy this weekend?

Bournemouth always a tough game for us and they have two in form and very very good strikers so who will start on the left for us Arthur or Cresswell? well for me i would drop Anderson to the bench and play both as Arthur can put in a decent cross for Haller and Cressy can do that as well and it may make us a little bit better defensively although recently we have looked good in that dept.....of course it all depends on who plays against Oxford on Wednesday but having Anderson on the bench itching to prove a point to El Pel could well work in our favour and what a player to have coming on as players legs get tired.....Will it happen mmm i dont think so but its just a thought of my own i wanted to air and get others opinions on.

Lanzini To Have Late Late Fitness Test Cresswell To Start

nevillenixon's picture
Submitted by nevillenixon on Sun, 22/09/2019 - 11:24

Manuel Lanzini is due to have a late late fitness test ahead of today's crucial game against Manchester United, Lanzini picked up the dreaded 'knock' in training and is a major doubt for selection. Should the 'little jewel' be unavailable Manuel Pellegrini does have options, and plenty of them!

It is perhaps worth remembering how devastating a Manu Lanzini injury would have been in the past for the team, but now Manuel Pellegrini can choose from Jack Wilshere, Pablo Fornals or even Robert Snodgrass. The troublesome left back berth is a different issue, Authur Masuaku is most definitely Pelle's first choice but is unavailable due to the ridiculous red card he was shown against Aston Villa.

Ben Johnson had been mooted as 'Authur's ' replacement, however he has also succumbed to a 'knock' in training, this 'knock' fella need to be addressed by the coaching staff in the future! Therefore Aaron Cresswell will probably start his first Barclays Premier League match since the opening day's chastening defeat to Manchester City, a game in which he was ripped apart by the City players, a performance that saw him dropped for the next matches.

Cresswell isn't a bad player, he just seems to have 'lost his MoJo', this is a relatively common occurrence among players returning from significant injuries, they don't mean to under perform, it is just that sub consciously they are terrified of picking up another serious injury, and in the no compromise 'battle field' of the Premier League if you don't give 100% you will get turned over.

This match, despite being played in September, could be season defining for the Irons. If they 'bottle it', they only have themselves to blame, it all depends on which West Ham turns up, doesn't it? - Ed

Cresswell, Johnson Or Zaba, Who Replaces Masuaku?*

nevillenixon's picture
Submitted by nevillenixon on Thu, 19/09/2019 - 11:11

Apart from blowing the chance to go third in the Barclays Premier League, Monday night's draw against newly promoted Aston Villa was earned at the cost of a red card for left back Authur Masuaku. Images of Masuaku's second yellow card saw the Villa player crash to the floor as if he had been shot by a sniper despite barely being glanced by the Hammers defender.
West Ham fans who had hoped that VAR would bring an end to the terrible refereeing the club have been on the receiving end of had better get used to their dreams fading and dying, although Hammers are currently 11-2 to finish in the top six of the table as you can see from this betting guide !
There is no point in dwelling Masuaku's dismissal, Kevin Friend of no one's millionth red card cannot be rescinded, despite it being issued in error, so what options does Manuel Pellegrini have?

The manager is obviously a great believer in 'Authur' otherwise he wouldn't have handed him a new five year deal, so his loss for the upcoming home game against Manchester United will be particularly annoying, as the defence had really tightened up in the last four games. Aaron Cresswell is the obvious go to player for the left back position, it wasn't that long ago that he was considered for England, but injury and loss of form have taken their toll, he looks a shadow of the player he once was before his series of injuries.

Ben Johnson has been at West Ham since he was seven years old, and on the 27th of February 2019 he made his Premier League debut for West Ham, starting at left-back away at champions Manchester City in a 1–0 defeat at the Etihad Stadium, a game in which he played admirably. Starting the 19 year old would certainly be a big risk for Manuel Pellegrini, putting so much faith and pressure on a young player is a gamble, but probably a necessary one given the circumstances, after all, why was Johnson not sent out on loan?

Johnson was retained to be in the first team squad should he be needed, with Masuaku suspended and Cresswell showing a complete lack of confidence, not helped by the 5-0 battering at home by Manchester City, a game in which he got 'skinned' relentlessly, the only other option is Pablo Zabaleta. Zaba came on against Villa following Masuaku's dismissal and helped see out the game, but starting the veteran against Manchester United in his 'wrong' position would be a recipe for disaster.

Pellegrini might have concerns about ruining Johnson's development by throwing him in at the deep end, but he made his debut against Manchester City, how much more of a challenge is there than that? The old saying that if you are good enough, you are old enough springs to mind, the Hammers manager does like to 'give youth a go', so don't be surprised to see Jonson start against United, with Cresswell on the bench. - Ed

Stadium Transformation Possible

One of the challenges of building sports and leisure facilities that are specialised is the cost implication that is involved. An added problem is that people going about their usual leisure activities, sports, or games may be disrupted during construction. However, there is a way out of this problem. This solution is known as Modular construction.

One of the key benefits of this construction style is the significant reduction in the time required for construction compared to the traditional building methods. It is a great construction medium with great benefits for your community because of its cost-efficient methods and speedy construction.

FEATURES OF MODULAR SPORTS BUILDINGS

Modular sports buildings are usually smart and designed to be malleable. They can be adapted to directly suit whatever you want and can have a casual look. This implies that the designs can be tweaked to satisfy the desires of every community under any conditions. They can be fashioned to meet their every need. There are a lot of things that Modular sports pavilions are known to be used for. It’s simply not possible to cover all them of them in this post. However, here are a few of the use of modular sports pavilions:
• Sports Club Buildings
• Fitness/Gym Studios
• Training Buildings
• Poolside Buildings
• Public Toilet Blocks and Changing rooms
• Cafés, bars, or clubhouses
• Administrative and office use
• Kiosks, Cafés, or visitor centers.
Smart-Space

ADVANTAGES OF MODULAR SPORTS BUILDINGS

The advantages of Modular sports buildings are endless. However, here a few of their benefits.

Building Materials Are Eco-friendly:

The modular industry is known to adapt to building processes and environments. This implies that you can use be eco-friendly materials in the build. This reduces the total waste produced and lowers the environmental impact of prefabricated builds. The common modern term ‘Offsite Construction’ was coined from the production of modular buildings. This is because they are constructed in an environment that is highly controlled in a way that on-site construction cannot be. Waste materials that are usually discarded and sent to a dump are now recycled for various purposes in other projects.

Energy Consumption Reduction:

The consumption of energy is largely reduced in modular buildings. This is because the modules are constructed offsite in a highly controlled environment. Hence, the marginal assembly process causes a huge reduction in the energy invested compared to using traditional pavilions. The use of cool/heat air insulation and conditioning and double-glazed windows helps in providing higher energy efficiency. Hence, making savings on heating bills through heat loss reduction.
Speed:

You build modular buildings as quickly as in a few weeks. This helps reduce of its impact on the environment and tight budget projects by communities. It illustrates the speed in a new light. The entire building can be completed in a few weeks. Hence, your team and community can enjoy its new vibrant building. It is an amazing benefit for those thinking of efficiency in little time.
Reduction in Noise Pollution:

Modular sports buildings are constructed in an eco-friendly factory. This implies that the required personnel will be considerably lower than that of a traditional site. Not requiring deliveries of building materials drastically helps in reducing noise pollution. Another factor that aid this are the reduction of on-site noise machinery. This implies that there will be no major disruption to the activities carried out by your club users and community. Hence, the construction can be carried out in harmony with the activities of your users and community.
Reduction in Running Cost:

Eco-friendly modular sports buildings costs as low as 95p for a running cost. This rate has been this low for the past 60 years. This implies that investment in modular sports buildings is worth it. Sooner or later the great White Elephant that is the London Stadium will be transformed in to a Stadium that is fit for purpose, Modular construction is a concept that is being investigated as a means to adapt the Stadium without having to do a 'Tottenham', work could progress during the season. - Ed
