we battled, we worked endlessly end to end. we lost but this was away at the best side in the country. Moyes produced a game plan, the players stuck to it. well done to them. Perhaps the back 5 is the way forward? offering us a solid platform and making us look dangerous on the counter. Rice was excellent. Who needs Reid? Even cress well playing out of position worked and worked. masuako has to stop the showboating and get the cross in instead. but credit to moyes and the players, we could have snatched a draw at the end too,.

Khan Has Karen In His Sights

If you thought 'Tevez Gate' was damaging for West Ham United just wait until London Mayor Sadiq Khan gets stuck in! He has a dual agenda and not withstanding his undoubted desire to do his best for Londoners, one has to remember he wants to give former Mayor Boris Johnson a 'damn good kicking*', not only that but he has Lady Brady and the two David's firmly in his sights as he begins to unravel the complex and mind blowing finances involved in trying to turn Lord Coe's white elephant in to a stadium fit for purpose. An independent review says the conversion cost £323m, the original estimate was £190m. Shocking enough, but Lord Coe's written promise and insistence that there be a 'legacy' have ensured a real pig's ear of a situation where the London Stadium is neither fit for football or easy to convert for athletics!

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has agreed to take over the former Olympic Stadium amid "financial challenges" Mr Khan says a "catalogue of errors" by his predecessor Boris Johnson led to the costs of transforming it into West Ham United's new ground soaring. In a strange shift of loyalties Mayor of Newham Sir Robin Wales said Mr Johnson left the stadium's finances in a "dreadful mess". Mr Khan claims Mr Johnson's decision to make taxpayers foot the bill means Londoners will have to shoulder a predicted loss of £24m this financial year. He will now take control of the London Stadium in order to "renegotiate deals" and "minimise ongoing losses".

Mr Khan said: "I ordered the review into the finances of the London Stadium to understand how key decisions were made about its transformation and why costs were allowed to spiral out of control. What has been presented is simply staggering."

Ironically this new found interest in 'renegotiating' deals that are written in stone is a lot of show and no go, however there is a distinct possibility that West Ham United will be offered out right control of the Stadium much sooner than the end of the original 25 year period that the current operators contract is for. They are losing money hand over fist, the only way the London Stadium is going to stop hemorrhaging tax payer's money is if the Stadium is completely redesigned as primarily a football stadium but one that can host other events. Of course the costs will be outrageous but eventually the Hammers' rented home could become their own property but it would take pockets deeper than either of the owners have, perhaps that is why there has been a consistent amount of covert activity with regards to bringing in new investors, the problem at the moment is that the team's woeful Premier League performances. Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has seen the value of his club drop by £60 Million in the last six weeks due to poor form, so what price would West Ham be given the club's current precarious position? Maybe Sadiq Khan knows! - Ed

England Cannot Bank On Hart

It is easy to give West Ham United's on loan keeper Joe Hart plenty of stick at the moment as he has conceed more goals than a charity team looking to lose by as many goals as possible to please their sponsors who want to see goals goals goals, the problem is Joe Hart, currently on loan from Hammers opponents on Sunday Manchester City, is supposed to be playing for a Premier League team although recent performances have been more akin to those of a Pub team, and not a very good one at that!

But is all the criticism fair and just? Well Gordon Banks thinks so."Jack Butland should be England's number one choice as keeper because Joe Hart is making terrible mistakes", said the 1966 World Cup winner. Hart has won 75 caps but former keeper Banks told BBC Sport: "I don't think he is playing well, especially when they kick it to him and he can't pick up. I see him make terrible mistakes, lots of times he is lucky they don't score."Banks, 79, would prefer to see Stoke keeper Butland start at the World Cup in Russia next summer.

Hart's stats don't make pleasant reading, since he went out on loan from all conquering Manchester City, initially for one season with Torino and subsequently this season with West Ham, Hart has conceded in excess of a staggering 2 goals per match! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that the teams Hart has played for since going out on loan have to score at least two goals per game just to stay level, essentially his presence in a team is the equivalent of gifting the opposition a two goal lead in virtually every match, or put another way Hart helps make visiting £5 Million forwards look like they are worth over £50 Million!

The exact terms of Hart's contract with West Ham are unclear, it would seem ludicrous if his appearance for every match, excluding those against his parent club, was enshrined in some form of legal clause but that seems to be the only logical conclusion, why else would Hart still be playing given his miserable performances in almost every game so far this season? It makes no sense, Slaven Billic is rumoured to have had a massive falling out with Adrian San Miguel that ended seeing Adrian benched for most of the season, even though he performed better than the now departed to Middlesbrough Darren Randolph.

However Billic is history now, it will be interesting to see how things unfold. Interestingly it was apparently David Sullivan who insisted on extending Adrian's contract, and this was done AFTER he had seen a few performances of a player he himself described as the 'best goal keeper' he had ever worked with, maybe Mr Sullivan began to notice what everyone else with a pulse had noticed for ages, namely that Hart is never going to get back to being the commanding and competent keeper that he was in the past, and unfortunately no amount of coaching or even renumeration will halt his decline. Talks of taking Hart to the London Stadium on a permanent basis have been put so far on the back burner that a millenium falcon will be required to re-open them!

Hart's had a good innings, it's a pity that he chose West Ham, or West Ham chose him, for the location where his goal keeping standards could plumb new depths, but he will console himself with the £5 million smackeroos that he will have banked for letting in his two goals a game. - Ed

Don't think Andy Carrol likes it under Moyes having to work hard, so near the Christmas period. Apparently, he jarred his Knee in training, he had a scan and nothing showed up. We needed him last night and he gave the fans 2 fingers - If your not up for the fight then we will buy someone else dont think we will get much for him, but what a great life he has had playing for us and what great wages. Sacko a few weeks ago got his own medical and on one of Billics last games threw a sicky as well, we don't need these type of players at our club and if they don't fancy fighting to stay up Frig them off in the next window, we can do without players pulling those type of stunts here at our lovely club, that is getting screwed with these type players, and if something ain't done we are going to end up like Sunderland and Charlton. D&S reckon they are businessmen, answer us this, how much do they think they will lose when we play in the championship next season and they talk of £20 million pound War Chest" well that's marvellous business acumen, better quadruple that and I still don't think that will be enough after watching the absolute shit against Everton, If they don't, wanna put their hand in their pocket then perhaps they ain't up for the fight either and sell the club

Hart to play versus City

Apparently Guardiola has been insisting that the loan agreement states Hart has to play versus city. this in the wake of watching his performance against Everton last night.
