reading an article this morning mentioning that the gooners want £15million for jenkinson in the summer if we want him just how realistic are they being? of course nobody will pay that for him maybe £7million at a push but what they want we and I very much doubt any other club will pay that ridiculous amount...of course we all now its just an opening gambit to see what they really want for him but if slav says no then who will we get to play in that position...I have heard sam byrams name mentioned by people but having not seen him play and clearly having no top flight experience would the club risk money on him? or will we stick with Tomkins and make him our new RB and buy another centre half? or will it be some Croatian player we are yet to no about...decisions decisions decisions....yes next summer is a long way off but in footy you have to keep looking

I think Steve Nicol knows a thing or two about what it takes to compete at the highest level, being a key player in that famous Liverpool side of the 80's.I agree with what he says, that's not being a downer on what Bilic has achieved, because I think he has done wonders already in his short tenure. But the squad is far from the finished article ,work in progress, definitely heading in the right direction.Currently with the players Bilic at his disposal he is playing to their strengths, for sure, but when you compare the team's football to the top teams like Arsenal,Chelsea,Man Utd,Man Cty who dominate games with their possession football ,reality sets in,their is still a sizeable gap in quality and playing style. We have a few individual stars who I think could get into any top side but we need more of that calibre. But progress is there for all fans to see,and the transition we have seen already in style ,entertainment value and results, you get the impression Bilic won't need that long to build a top side worthy of Champions League football,so long as the funding continues. But I would be happy with 8th place this season, and who knows ,maybe next summer with the addition of more quality recruits ,competition for a top 4 place may be realistic.

mourinho on his way?

Is the stamping feet and throwing toys all an excuse for mourinho to quit? Instead of shutting up and rolling sleeves up to get his side some points all he does is bleat about wenger and how the referees are robbing him. It doesn't really look like he's doing much behind closed doors either judging by some of his 'big' players performances. He has proved in the past he is a quitter, are we seeing the ground being prepared for him to huff off again before he gets fired? All that drama on sat was clearly staged. Rather than take the knock on the chin he wanted something to hide behind so we get the dramatics and deliberate getting sent to the stands. Not cool Jose, I think the games up.

every supporter of every club will tell you they have a team they don't like playing and even as generations go by for some reason or another they just beat you whether you are in top form and they are playing the worst football ever for some reason they always turn you over why is it? players change playing styles change and yet no matter what you do they beat you.....it used to be Luton but of late we all no its everton thought after drawing against them in the cup and ADRIANS heroics in the replay we had at last put that jinx to bed but nope up it popped again on the last day of the season and as west ham fans were we surprised errr no....and why is it some teams love playing at certain grounds and always get results again not talking over a few seasons but through the generations for some reason you just no yup no probs we love playing here......some people may think its mumbo jumbo but bet you if we draw Luton in the cup home or away there will be a few people thinking here we go again

I'm so old.

I'm so old I remember the time beating Chelsea was never much of an issue. In fact often we only played them the season we went down as they mainly played a league BELOW us! That's Chelsea in my eyes and itl never change. Fast forward a few years with Matthew Harding and roman the red throwing money at them things changed. I can never get my head around Chelsea being one of the top teams so there recent run translates to me as business as normal. I lift a glass to the hope they are on the verge of turning full circle and Roman feels there is no longer a need to pump hundreds of millions into a spent force.
