  • we have the players now we really do have them

    So we lost to the bindippers even after the miracle of the penalty given against Liverpool at the Kop end......but unfortunately for us we have a manager who plays not to lose instead of playing to win....We all no it we are all aware of it but for Goodness sake someone needs to have a word in his shell like.

    Fab/Areola/Rice/ Scamacca/Ants/Bowen/Downes!/ i could go on but we have the players but they need to be more forward thinking but Moyes is not that and so we will always be chasing games....Rice we all know give him the ball let him run wth it opposition players are scared of him yet he does not do it enough...opening minutes yesterday Allison with a poor kick out fell to Rice i have no doubt we were all shouting HIT it but know he did a poor pass to Scamacca instead of doing what he did agains Southampton..Ability is clearly there use it.Next Summer when he is sold and he will be you watch the level he goes upto with a Manager who will utilise his ability better.
    Downes start of second half did exactly the same of course a younger player his first start and at Anfield you get why but its not only Liverpool it is against all opposition we play.

    Our players need to be given a chance to show there abilty the obvious talent we have but Moyes with his constant need for Square passing across the back and back to the GK you have to wonder Why Scamacca didn't just walk off the pitch talk about no service.....Moyes wont admit it but he has an inferiority complex playing the big boys and instead of having a go and who knows he has to strangle the creativity we have by being solid ZZZZZZZZ.......

    Bournemouth Next no Pacman supposedly for couple of weeks so do we expect Moyes to think Sod it Benny wide left Bowen Wide Right Ants and Scamacca upfront with Rice and Downes in the middle? of course we dont it will be the usual conservative approach and whining on about fixture congestion squad rotation blah blah blah guess what all clubs suffering that.

    We have the players we just do not have the Manager to suit them sadly.

  • Could 'Bionic' Aguerd Be On Bench Tonight?

    It may seem a bit far fetched given the multiplicity of circumstances surrounding team selection for this evening's tough impending fixture away to Liverpool at Anfield as both teams are facing an 'injury crisis', but David Moyes, never one to give ANY information or disinformation that could possibly assist an opposing manager, DID allude to the fact that summer signing 26 year old Nayef Aguerd is actually training with the rest of the squad following the serious injury he sustained in the friendly defeat up at Ibrox during pre-season.

    While Aguerd will obviously be well off the pace and will have had little time to fully integrate with his team mates, just having him available, even for a few crucial minutes towards the end of a game will have lifted the team's spirits and perhaps David Moyes can stop naming THREE goalkeepers for each game! The injury to Nayef Aguerd 'disintegrated' David Moyes' planned set up for this campaign, his entire defence was going to be centred around Aguerd so it must have been a dreadful blow to see his Marquee defensive signing not being able to play a game in anger. Moyes' situation was then further aggravated by Les Balon Dawson's desire to return oop North, Issa Diop's strop to get his move to Fulham done a long term bout of serious flu for Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna rushing himself back from an ACL injury!

    The team appear to have ridden out the storm are are now finding some form and consistency although there is room for a great deal of improvement, the green shoots of recovery are definitely becoming visible, they will ned to be tonight under the lights at Anfield in front of a fiercely patriotic crowd, a game that fortunately for those who cannot attend is being broad cast by Amazon who of course give you the viewing option that other broadcasters cannot dare, CROWD NOISE ONLY! We love it! No Alan miserable *unting Smith or serial Hammer hater Glenn Hoddle to depress and annoy you in equal measure!

    Realistically a point would be a great reward from tonught's game, to many it is a write off and so they will be hoping to see a team give it a 'real go' and not capitulate in front of the 'baying crowd', Anfield is the sort of ground that 'inspires' big name top players and for once WEst Ham have more than one big name top players in their line up, Rice, Bowen, Paquetá and Scamacca are not too shabby a line up are they?

    Whatever happens tonight fans will accept the result so long as they see their team give it their all and create problems for the home side who CAN be got at! - Ed

  • Who Will Be Declan Rice’s Next Club-Betting Odds?

    West Ham midfielder Declan Rice is one of the best midfielders, arguably the best in the Premier League having helped lead West Ham United to a top-seven or higher finish the last two seasons. While the Hammers haven’t had a season like that this year, Rice is still showing his quality week in and week out.

    With West Ham’s position in the league as a middle-of-the-road Premier League club, there has been rampant speculation that he will leave to pursue titles at a bigger club. You will regularly see odds on his next club within offshore sports betting, but as the years have gone on, he has remained at West Ham. With the World Cup coming up and the Englishman making a compelling argument to be a force in midfield for the Three Lions, Rice will be one of, if not the, biggest transfer talk in January.

    With so much talk, there are obvious betting odds already on what club will be the next home for Rice, these are the clubs that will likely be looking to sign Rice in January or in the summer.

    Chelsea

    Chelsea is the obvious choice to sign Declan Rice, as Rice grew up very close to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea will likely be a Champions League side, and Rice would fit right into Graham Potter's system. A midfield that contains the likes of Rice, N’golo Kante, and Jorginho would be one that can go up against any in the Premier League.

    Manchester United

    Manchester United have had some midfield issues for years now. The likes of Scott Mctominay, and Fred being in the midfield are serviceable but is not to the standard of United or a Premier League-winning midfield. Rice’s injection into the squad could be exactly what United and Erik Ten Hag need to change their fortunes.

    Manchester City

    Manchester City has to be in all talks for the stars looking for move inside the Premier League. City have the best midfield in all of England, and arguably in the entire world, and adding Rice to it would be the incredible depth that manager Pep Guardiola would be striving for. With the money City can throw at Rice, and pairing himself with Kevin De Bruyne it might be too good to pass up.

    Liverpool

    This season has really shown Liverpool's lack of midfield depth, as injuries and poor quality have resulted in Liverpool having one of their worst seasons in recent memory. Jurgen Klopp’s side cannot afford to wait for the young midfielders to develop, they need a star now to come in and help spark Liverpool back into a title-winning side. Rice would be a perfect pairing with Fabinho, Henderson, and Thiago and can be an excellent replacement if any of them get injured or are out of form as well. He is the exact depth they need right now.

    Decs will definitely be off by next season unless Hammers fortunes take an extremely unpward trajectory, it will be a question of how much rather than how long! In an ideal world he would go to Real Madrid or a club of that Genre in order that Hammers fans can appreciate how well Rice's career is developing without being painfully reminded of it each time he plays for another Premier League club, whoever they may be against the Irons. - Ed

    Thought I'd put this out there due to all the comparisons between the 2 players.

    I'm not seeing any similarities myself. So can orgers explain where this has come from.

    For me Paqeuta plays in the same position as a 10 I guess to use modern terms. But thats about it for me. I remember Payet as a magician, dribbling, close control, bliding free kicks a really dynamic force.

    I'm not seeing that in Paqueta, although he needs time and looks the real deal but no Payet..

    Our next three away games Bournemouth/Palace/Leicester our next three home games how many points? right now and how Moyes sets us up i see nothing in the away games but couple of heavy defeats and maybe just maybe if we are lucky a draw at Manure which makes the three home games vitally inportant...if Moyes has any hope of a top half finish before the World cup starts he has to win all three but they are tricky games but ones we should be winning if given the encouragement to be on the front foot....inbetween all those a couple of European matches and a EFL cup game against Blackburn.....So heres hoping we do not suffer any more injuries especially in the defence but it is West Ham.

  • Bare Bones Before Breakfast?

    Crikey Mikey what is it with West Ham and 'serial' injuries? Not content with losing one centre back during a game, Hammers went large and went through THREE centre backs during the midweek game against the Flare throwers from Flanders!

    The massive signing who the entire defence was going to be assembled around, Nayef Aguerd, promptly got crocked on his 2nd outing for the club during the friendly defeat up at Ibrox and the rest have just been dropping like flies.

    Les 'Balon' Dawson is a definite doubt for Sunday's crucial fixture against bogey team Southampton, who on the final day of last season helped ensure Hammers would be playing in the Con Cup instead of the Europa League. Angelo Ogbonna having only just started to play again following a potentially career ending ACL injury was taken of as a precaution but it doesn't bode well and Kurt Zouma is either injured, has man flu or even worse cat flu!

    The club's new 'right back' sensation Thilo Kehrer was originally signed as a centre back, a position that he doesn't particularly excel at but it is his original position so he should be able to step up to the plate if needs be. Assuming Kehrer does make up part of the centre of defence would Declan Rice be forced to play at centre back as well if the others are all unavailable?

    Vladimir Coufal has finally started to resemble the player he was before picking up his serious groin injury last year, an injury from which he was rushed back from far too quickly with the commensurate drop odd in form that was witnessed, The Impaler and scourge of Jack Grealish looks to be back and just in the nick of time.

    Flynn Downes has been man of the match on three occasions playing for the club in European ties, he could take Declan's role in midfield, it is a risk, but needs must and it could be a vision of the future being played out in front of the eyes of fans who know that one day, sooner rather than later, that Declan Rice will be head hunted by Manchester City, Chelsea or even Real Madrid!

    Old 'Arry Redknapp always used to trot out his "we're down to the bare bones' comments ahead of certain games to remind owners of his squad's paucity and his own need to 'top up' his brown envelope inventory. Rob Newman must be scratching his head, there he was thinking he had completed a really successful transfer window but now finds himself scratching around for additional signings, welcome to the 'West Ham Way' Mr Newman...! - LN

    Kehrer Zouma Dawson Ogbonna Aguerd....all our centrebacks all injured and unavailable for Sunday against Southampton so now what? Soucek/Rice play there would seem our only option unless Moyes goes with Rice in the middle Johnson and cresswell either side and has Coufal and emerson playing wingback......So is Moyes playing mind games or are we just cursed as usual and if they are all injured would he be stupid enough to risk any of them? our line up Sunday afternoon will be interesting to see thats for sure.

    West Ham secured their progress to the next round of the Con Cup with aplomb against fellow group favourites Anderlecht, a comfortable 2-0 win was on the cards courtesy of goals by Benrahma and Bowen before a late penalty gifted to the visitors ensured the traditional anxiety fans have grown accustomed to over the years had a chance to test the nerves. On another day Hammers could have put the game well and truly to bed early doors but David Moyes, mindful of the club's domestic commitments, had to maintain a balancing act and as such managed to get his team to do exactly what it said on the tin, win the game, top the group and find themselves needing only one more point from two games to avoid having to play extra conference cup games.

    A less than pleasant aspect of the game was the extraordinary amount of pyrotechnics that were somehow deployed by the away fans, it wasn't just the odd flare being ignited it was more like a mini katyusha rocket assault because so many were sent into the West Ham home fans adjacent to the visitors. The Stewards, most of whom are on minimum wages were powerless in the face of what they were dealing with and the situation was only brought under control when the riot police arrived towards the closing stages of the game.

    Now anyone attending games at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium will tell you of the 'finicity' nature of the security searches carried out ahead of games, woe betide you if you happen to have a plastic bottle containing a soft drink with you that actually has a lid on it! You are generally asked tyo remove the top or not be allowed to pass without leaving the bottle or drinking the contents before being allowed to proceed to the game. So how come were SO MANY flares brought in by the away fans?

    This is a serious question that needs a proper response from the club and the authorities, Anderlecht will most likely escape any form of 'real' sanction and West Ham will probably get fined because their fans had the temerity to throw back the burning projectiles that had been raining down on them...social media is ablaze with coverage, excuse the pun!

    Sooner or later someone will smuggle something more sinister in, their is always that chance, but mitigating the risk is possible ONLY if the away fans, particularly those from abroad, are strenuously searched on entry as opposed to being waved through as they currently are, indeed they are actually escorted to the ground by the Police and then and it beggars belief, actually fast tracked into the ground with little or no heed given to searching anyone!

    European nights are special and should be enjoyed thoroughly, but unless someone can get a handle on the types of security breaches seen tonight, including an aggressive pitch invader, then things could turn really ugly or even tragic.- Ed
