Decision To Be Arisen

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Fri, 25/07/2025 - 00:28

West Ham United will officially learn the verdict today regarding the betting scandal that Brazilian international Lucas Paqueta has faced.

It's been a long time coming, and the entire process has been draining for everyone, including Paqueta himself, who we've seen has lost a yard in focus since the allegation has been hanging over his head.

But, nevertheless, after all the rumours and all of the drama, the Hammers will finally find out what is true in this instance and what is not. An outcome either way will involve further action. If Lucas Paqueta IS NOT guilty, we could potentially expect Paqueta as well as the club to sue the FA for the damages caused over two years. If the Brazilian IS guilty, then it's most likely a long-term ban, and the club would probably sue him for the wages that had been paid.

All to be announced today, but it's crossed fingers until then.

Why Is Potter Still Here?

Deluded Hammer's picture
Submitted by Deluded Hammer on Thu, 24/07/2025 - 09:59

A double barrelled question because lets be honest, Potters reign at the second half of last season was worse than the first half which got Lopetegui the tin tack.
However, that was still six months where you would have thought he would have had all his little soldiers that he wanted in, all lined up for the start of the transfer window and I'm not including his due diligence on the state of the club at the time of his appointment. So here we are, one player in that he wanted, (Dioff), one he didn't (Walker Peters) and allegedly one coming in (Wilson), that no-one wants. And here we are, three weeks away from the start of the new season.
Now I've never had much time for Potter as is well known, and I don't have much in the way of any respect for him. This little, if any respect I had, is diminishing day by day as this circus act he is presiding over drags on, because I personally would have walked by now. He's not hard up after a lovely little pension pot build up from Chelsea, but I would give him a slight nod of respect if he walked, the day before the start of the season if he hasn't got all his little soldiers that he wanted ready to go on the team sheet.
And welcome Sullvan Jr. in the dugout

Sully x Salthouse Duo Strikes Again

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Wed, 23/07/2025 - 13:10

Sully has made one of his classic phone calls, and year after year, he's finally got his man.

It appears that Callum Wilson will be joining West Ham this Summer Transfer window, and with the Englishman joining the club, it'll count as our eighth and final homegrown player required to fulfil the quota. By no means is Wilson a positive signing; in fact, it's exactly the opposite of what we need at the club and the opposite of what Potter is aiming for.

There are rumours circulating that Wilson would be accepted by Graham Potter but only if the player is on a 'pay-by-play' type contract, essentially meaning if the player gets injured or performs badly, the pay would be minimal and wouldn't cost the Hammers a fortune... such as Uncle Ingy. But this is also because he's likely not to start games and, at best, only cover for injury, or perhaps a substitution appearance here and there.

Is Wilson a positive signing? No. Does it allow us to spend elsewhere? Yes.

It's extremely difficult to think about the positives for the deal, but the man above will never change the club for the better, and continue to be an obstacle for the windows ahead, he's not confirmed just yet.. might fail the medical! Only time will tell, but seems like the third signing is set in stone.

Can anyone else find some positives, apart from a certain extra paycheck to another individual, I'm struggling to see why West Ham has made the executive decision to offer him a contract instead of Antonio or someone else. If we HAD to sign someone above the age of 32, we would've had the courtesy to get Antonio back, you'd suspect?

Onwards and upwards... wonder what the bookies' odds of him playing above 10 games next season are?

Hammers Hunt For Their Herman

Hermansen Leicester Goalkeeper West Ham Transfer Window Lastest Transfer News

After officially completing wingback duty, West Ham has now taken strides in getting closer to signing the remaining positions at hand, which include a striker, midfielder, and goalkeeper.

Many have suggested, after our pre-season friendly, that Areola is in need of being replaced, but there are also a lot of people who suggest the midfield should take priority.

It now seems Potter is happy to dig into the Kudus funds for Mads Hermansen and is comfortable to be near Leicester’s asking price of £20,000,000 for the Dane. The Foxes are attempting to get a straight fee, but West Ham are in talks for a loan with an obligation to buy in an attempt to save and spend money elsewhere.

It is important to note that at the beginning of last season, Leicester had valued Hermansen at £35,000,000.

Hermansen, who is 25 years of age, was formerly trained by West Ham’s newest Goalkeeper Coach, Casper Ankergren.

Hermansen is a highly regarded player, one who has had a lot of teams looking at him previously and also looking at him now, but is he really worth the price tag the Leicester have put on him, especially considering the Hammers’ finances? It’ll definitely be a tough choice for Potter, that’s for sure.

So tell me, are you going to help us be our own Herman, are you -sen?

Potter's Pre Starts With Three

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Sat, 19/07/2025 - 16:34

Our first pre-season game of the 2025/26 season against Zurich ended in a 3-1 victory for the Hammers, the goals coming through Andy Irving, Callum Marshall and Lucas Paqueta.

However, if you could look past the awful commentary alongside the utterly abysmal camera quality, you would've been able to see a rather intriguing game which showed improvements but also patterns that haven't changed whatsoever.

It was a slight difficulty to get the team-sheets done due to the fact we had two seperate lineups... which was announced before the game, the 'A' team was filled with the more senior players with the inclussion of the evergone Cornet, and the 'B' team had the majority of the returning youth players, such as Potts, Orford, Marshall as well as Diouf.

To kickstart with what we all knew already, the 'A' team midfield pairing of Guido Rodriguez as well as James Ward-Prowse were both completely run through, it was easy for Zurich to find gaps which subsequently gave them two clear-cut chances, but both wouldn't convert. But comparing 'A' to 'B' was light day and, the midfield of Potts and Orford as well as Soucek, seemed very comfortable and also could press forward more together with and without the ball, something of which we couldn't even be able to fathom under Guido and Prowse.

Our first goal was converted by Andy Irving, but the play between Bowen and Wan-Bissaka created the chance for the goal, a duo which we saw worked very well last season.

The second goal came through Callum Marshall with a lovely strike into the bottom-right corner just as the second half began. It seemed that we were able to create more chances in the 'B' team rather than the 'A'.

West Ham's latest confirmed signing in Malick Diouf, played the entirety of the second half and gave good impressions amongst fans. The Senegal international seemed to be everywhere on that left-hand side and constantly provided chances in the box either with a one-two or a cross.

He also very nearly grabbed himself a goal at the end, but a handball & clearance off the line meant that we got a penalty instead, which Lucas Paqueta converted to end the game at the finishing scoreline of 3-1.

Overall, a positive performance, but one that evidently shows that the Hammers require new midfielders in the remainder of the window. There will be more to come and more to learn with the Premier League summer series up in a week's time, but in the meantime, it's crucial that transfer business continues.

Team 'A': Areola, Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Scarles, Cornet, Rodriguez, Irving, Ward-Prowse, Bowen (C), Fullkrug
Team 'B': Foderingham, Mavropanos, Aguerd, Casey, Diouf, Potts, Orford, Soucek (C), Paqueta, Guilherme, Marshall

Grasshoppers 1 v 3 West Ham........we blew them away it was like watching Brazil in there prime we do not need to buy any more players we looked like a Rolls Royce pure poetry in motion i do not see anyone who can stand in our way.....or maybe the suns got to me a bit this week!

Irving goal was a nice finish Marshalls was quality and a Pacman pen to finish the ROUT! all in all a good little workout but we do have a number of things to work on.

Grashoppers goal was from the edge of our box with nobody closing the player down so a free shot no challenge remember BRIGHTON Potter this is something that is needing addressing big time...Areola clearly still looks suss with the ball to feet and Todibo mmm i am still not sold on the player with some of his play today distinctly lazy.

Harsh words you think and only the first preseason game and i agree with that obviously but with the first game 4 weeks today away much needs working on.

The Double-Barrel Trilogy

Kyle Walker-Peters KWP West Ham Southampton Latest Football News Latest Football Transfer News

The Besiktas twist began around the early afternoon yesterday when it was shockingly announced that Kyle Walker-Peters' transfer to Turkey had suddenly been called off after a change of heart by Walker-Peters himself, and subsequently, Besiktas had to announce on their social media that he was not going to sign despite the deal being almost done.

It was then announced that two clubs had shown interest in the Premier League those two being West Ham and Everton. It was known before that Graham Potter wasn't the biggest fan of Walker-Peters, but these comments were made before Wan-Bissaka had decided to now represent Congo, which means he will be gone for AFCON this season, around December-January time, which played a factor in Potter changing his mind.

It was also believed that KWP wasn't initially happy with the gametime being offered, but after having conversations with Potter and further discussion about his role, he was sold and has now officially agreed to sign a three-year contract with the Hammers.

The medical for KWP will take place over the weekend, and then he will be putting pen to paper with an official announcement expected on Sunday or Monday.

He's a player that some might not be happy to get, but he fulfils the homegrown quota, he's had an enormous amount of Premier League experience, can play on both sides and is a fantastic player to have involved in the starting squad or to play for cup games and really it's hard to see how this could go wrong for West Ham and Potter.

More business is to come, and the future signing of KWP was not an opportunity that the club expected to arise, hence why the progression of the midfielder has taken a step back.

JWP, AWB, KWP, any more double-barrel names? Or at least ones that don't have a 'W' in the middle? Maybe that's the latest transfer strategy.

See the West Ham Live Scores and keep an eye out for our first pre-season friendly tomorrow at 14:00.

Liverpool Raid As Hammers Step Up Interest

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Thu, 17/07/2025 - 10:11

After confirming Malick Diouf as our first signing this window, West Ham now pay all their attention to the midfield as they aim to sign a midfielder. Whilst we’re looking for a defence and an attacking midfielder, both options are being considered, but at the forefront of that interest is Tyler Morton.

Liverpool’s Tyler Morton is valued at £16,000,00, but they aren’t expected to be strict on that asking price as they’re trying to raise funds for Isak from Newcastle.

Morton not only provides for lame journalist headlines such as ‘Magic Morton’. But he would also help us out as his style is a more attacking defensive midfielder, which was predominantly shown from his loan spell at Hull City.

The club have fortunately started to look away from Harvey Elliot after being priced out of the move, which is probably for the better, unless the Hammers would possibly tempt Liverpool to a double deal at a highly discounted rate, which has been considered.

Young, hungry players are exactly what is needed for this club to build a positive environment, which we once had, but had since been tarnished by Jules.

Just a few more signings in the door, a few players out there door and we would’ve progressed towards striving for a younger, more talented and hungry squad. Look at Malick Diouf, he said himself, he’s “looking forward to winning a lot of titles.”

There’s more West Ham predictions and rumours to view here too.

Graham Grooving With Summer Kick-started

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Tue, 15/07/2025 - 09:30
El Hadji Malick Diouf On A Jet

Graham Potter and Kyle Macaulay have started movin' and somehow got Sully grooving, after the negative of negative updates, it seems to have now ramped up to a degree where we've officially had a bid accepted at last for El Hadji Malick Diouf and he's officially waved goodbye to Slavia Prauge and said hello to the Hammers.

Whilst the deal has yet to be announced officially, he has officially completed his medical and is expected to be announced either today or tomorrow.

Despite Diouf being an excellent player, many other positions are primary and many others need our focus than where our first signing plays. It now seems that Potter has finally got a player that he's been longing for all window, and now the deal is almost done, our attention switches back to the midfielder positions.

Midfield and Liverpool duo Harvey Elliot and Tyler Morton are the two latest midfielders thrown into the equation. It is thought that Potter would prefer Elliot out of the two, but Liverpool are asking for either £40,000,000 with a buy-back clause or a straight £50,000,000, which doesn't contain a buy-back. Definitely, the club cannot afford Harvey Elliot at the moment, and if we were able to, it would require using the majority of our budget, which wouldn't be money well spent.

Tyler Morton, a younger Liverpool talent, has also been put under high consideration, with a similar player profile to Potts but provides a more attacking aspect to the game. Liverpool have put a £12-15,000,000 asking price, which all in all is a much more affordable option than Harvey Elliot.

Alongside the Liverpool duo, Southampton youngster, Mateus Fernandes, is also 'admired' by Graham Potter & Macaulay, meaning we've got a few options to choose from when it comes to the middle of the park, which we've so desperately been needing.

In regards to Sales, the exits have been quiet since the departure of Mohammed Kudus, but it is confirmed that the club have accepted a few bids for Emerson, but he has rejected all of which we've accepted due to the countries not being suitable to him. Emerson has expressed his interest in leaving the club this summer, which was known a few months ago, so I'd suggest keeping a close eye on that front.

And not to worry, if you get bored with Sully's business tactics, there's always other Premier League news

Hammers Looming But No Blooming

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Sun, 13/07/2025 - 11:57

Over the past couple of days, if any of your attention has gone towards the media, all you would’ve seen are rumours upon rumours and supposedly lame offers being put in for players.

Unfortunately, the majority of these are true, and the fact of the matter is that West Ham haven’t been able to make any concrete offers as of yet, and we’re even getting to the level where we’re starting to annoy club presidents.

Slavia Prague’s club president, Jaroslav Tvrdik, has exclaimed his disapproval at how long the deal is taking for West Ham not to agree on a fee… but agree on a payment structure for El Hadji Malick Diouf. In order to add to fans’ frustration, Diouf has expressed his interest in joining us, agreed on personal terms and has also turned down other clubs in order to prioritise us, yet we still won’t agree on a payment structure.

In terms of other news? Former Aston Villa player Douglas Luiz has made it known that he’d like to leave Juventus, and their manager has already started to form plans for next season without him included.

A possible deal was discussed with an opportunity for a loan with an obligation to buy, which West Ham are open to, but Douglas’ 160k per week wage asking price is putting us off at the moment.

It’s not the Hammers’ first rodeo when it comes to late summer business, so to see it again wouldn’t come as a shock; however, the biggest issue that comes with this is that Potter & Macaulay are losing out on their identified targets, which is going to come back and bite us.

It’s been 27 days since the window opened, West Ham have lost out on over 7+ targets that were identified, and no transfers in sight… let’s hope that the Kudus money is still a pending transaction.
