Happy Birthday West Ham United COYI
With the need for a substantial influx of bodies & good ones at that. Who is to blame for the inactivity we are seeing? Now i am no fan of the board as rants from yester year with Fareham will testify.
The way I see things. Sullivan always liked to bring in his players. But due to criticism and good form from the team he has relinquished himself from that role & gave Moyes the reigns on who comes and goes. He even appointed Newman to assist. Now in 10 months, all Moyes and Newman have come up with his a Centre Back & our reserve keeper of last season. It appears Moyes is hell bent on getting Lingard in and any additional players are to revolve around him. This is dangerous as we need quantity and quality. The longer Moyes leaves it the harder it will be and clubs will have the upper hand in negotiations when dealing with us.
So is Danjuma Sullivan driven? Is he getting itchy feet & realising what will happen. Potter from Hull should have been tied up early doors. Not wait until Lingard decides what he wants to do! By my reckoning we need 8 more players at least & if Moyes wants to intergrate these players he needs to liven himself up. Because i'm sorry to say. If we are going to continue to go forward. Creswell, Antonio are not starting eleven quality anymore.
Not just Mark Noble but Steve Wright in the afternoon!! Wtf are the beeb doing? Scott Mills ffs...Wrighty in the afternoon has got me through work for decades, best show by a country mile on the radio!! The Boleyn gone,Steve Wright gone what next? An allotment looks like the next step!! ;)
Never saw enough of this Lad to see how good he is but listening and reading to reports the club are fuming he did not sign a deal offered to him and claims he has been tapped up by at least one premier league club.
Not sure how true that is but if he was/is as talented as being touted why wait and no doubt low ball a contract for him to sign and fully expecting him to do so.....This young man has an agent agents at any level play the game and whilst i agree the club should not let itself be held to ransom by any player of any age like it or not you have to pay the going rate for a talent at the level he is right now.
Good luck to him i say if he could not see himself making it into a Moyes squad but other clubs letting you know they value you more at his age his head will be turned. This is all part of football...Clubs let players go all the time thinking they wont make the grade so why moan when a youngster wants to move on...The club will get money for him but expecting a player to hang around on the off chance of being given a go is nonsense.
Has he made a mistake? who knows a fleeting flirt with the first team not enough to convince him he would get a chance from the bench...young Freddie Sears scoring on his debut for us against Blackburn Rovers was really the last time i rmbr a kid coming through the ranks to the first team but it was clear his talent always suited to championship and lower leagues and so that is what happened to him and there is no shame in that at all.
Tony Cottee saw his debut and really he is the only striker i can think of who came through the youth and made the grade at West Ham so Sonny Perkins in a very different world to the one Cottee was in has made a decision but the reaction from the club is an overreaction because they clearly thought ohh he will just sign what we put in front of him....Ignorant and amateurish.....who decides the contracts at youth level i am not sure and again i have not seen enough of the player to make a judgement but Cullen let go Coventry? jury still out Holland was let go so why all the bitching about this Lad because he decided he would not sign a contract.
Listened to some rubbish that passes for music this evening..the grandkids were all hyped up on such souless drivel i just had to put on a favourite tune of mine that just shows how it should be done...feel free to critic it and add some that are special for you.
Jesse Lingard's "gone with the wind" potential epic appearance at Hammers' 'Goose Green' training ground has had more twists and turns than a Michael Moorcock Novel, with even more expected before the on off transfer grinds to its ultimate conclusion.
It is pretty clear who likes or dislikes Jesse Lingard in the Press and Media, their opinions not based on facts or figures come to that, but merely on conjecture and some 'divine' insight into the mind of a player who is about to make the biggest decision that remains in his career!
Of course Lingard is going to take his time and consider all of the options available to him, he and his advisers would be crazy not too, realistically this is Jesse Lingard's last big career move so he as a free agent is entitled to take 'all the time in the world' before making his final decision.
Lingard's stance has 'irked' some fans who question whether Lingard is just using the club to 'up the ante' for what will most likely be the final deal he signs in his career. A lot of 'fan sites' have been having their say about how Lingard would prefer to stay up North or to go to Italy, that is how diverse their opinions are, all of which are pure conjecture as things stand.
It should be remembered that Jesse Lingard has been out of contract with Manchester United for less than TWENTY FOUR HOURS! We still expect him to sign for West Ham, but he will be in no hurry to complete the deal, West Ham on the other hand, while keen to get the deal done will also try to not be paying a month's £600,000 salary when they don't have to.
In an ideal World Lingard would be signed and be about to join up for training and pre-season games in Scotland, but it doesn't work that way for club's not financed by Bookies or Pariah States, (Betway are Bookies, but they don't OWN West Ham).
If and when Lingard DOES arrive for his medical, best keep your eyes peeled, because he will be in and out quicker than a vicar at a clerical abuse enquiry! - Ed
Goodness me i am a busy girl this morning waiting for my train yeah i know you have to laugh!.
So is he a winner? he says he is but personally although he is a good manager and knows what he wants i do not think he is a winner because he is to cautious and winners are never that winners have a bit of JE NE SAIS QUOI(sorry Burkie use google to translate for you xx) something sadly he can never possess.
So a winner as in silverware etc i'm sorry but this girl just does not see it.
So this is it he is out of contract and Moyes needs an answer because in this girls opinion the reason we are acting so slow in the transfer market is because Moyes wants lingard so so bad its getting rather silly.
So simply put do you want him or not? for me i say know because of his age and wage demands,we are meant to be trying to lower the age of the squad and get shot of players who were clearly earning to much compared to there ability and time spent on the pitch.
So if the board sanction this deal and then Moyes will feel justified in selling Soucek i truly think we will have a disaster of a season and then next summer Rice goes we will be left with an ageing Lingard in the middle of the park no Rice no Soucek and back to struggling as ever.
Ok so i am in the know thank you camp on lingard how about you boys?
You don't need to be a maths scholar to know that signing two new players is only a drop in the transfer ocean for David Moyes and West Ham when you consider the fact that FOUR key players have left or retired, so FOUR players are required just to get the squad back to being wafer thin!
As one of the TWO new signings was already at the club on loan, the excellent Alphonse Areola who has now been signed on a permanent deal from PSG, it is plain to see that there is much to do for Moyes and head of recruitment Rob Newman.
Annoyingly EVERY player the club shows interest in is instantly 'suddenly' of interest to Newcastle, the newly minted Northerners aren't even going to be restricted by FFP which has been abandoned due to the impossibility of 'policing' it efficiently.
With the FFP 'rear gunner' out of action, things are looking bleaker and bleaker for West Ham as those clubs with 'massive' financial clout will be free to flex their muscles without risk of sanction. Hunting for scraps has long been a Hammers tradition, one that fans had hoped was a thing of the past, but as things stand it looks as if the queue to sign top players has become even more congested.
Where does this leave West Ham? Well, little by little David Moyes has been 'snapping up' youth players from all over the place in an attempt to build from the ground up, so anyone who questioned why the club has been signing so many 'yute' now has their answer, the change to the FFP ruling has been in the pipe line for some time and it seems that Moyes has had to act accordingly.
Not being able to sign players for massive fees isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there is going to be a need for some very creative recruitment if Hammers are going to be ANYWHERE NEAR THE TOP SIX NEXT SEASON! TIME TO GET YOUR THINKING CAPS ON MOYES AND NEWMAN. -Ed
Lingard response is deafening!!!!!! He's obviously waiting for a better offer elsewhere.......
29 years old that means in less than a year he'll be 30..(You have to get up early in the morning to beat me on maths).
So if wages are sensible, maybe it's good business after all. Still a big time Charlie though.
